Our Sumter S.P.C.A. was organized in 1969 by the late Elaine D. (Sunny) Korn. Mrs. Korn was a great humanitarian who cared for and respected all life. Her perseverance, determination and dedication to animals transformed her S.P.C.A. dream into a reality when the current facility located at 1140 S. Guignard Drive opened in February 1976. Approximately 209,128 animals have been cared for and sheltered since that time. Our S.P.C.A. has also helped innumerable individuals with their animals and/or animal problems. Call us today.

They do kill animals!! Less than 24 hours they killed my cat gizmo!! he was given to them to find a better home because he wasn't happy in our anymore. We moved different states and we gave him to the spca. Told them what we wanted ffor him and told them why we had to give him up. he was "going" all over the house. there were two females he was use to and a new male he wasn't. So we wanted a new home for him, where he is the only cat with alot of room and love. I called back the next day only to find out they killed my cat. Said he was un-adoptable!! They shouldn't advertise themselves as a no-kill institution if there going to kill animals!! You love your pet bneed to find a new home maybe for lack of money or rough times hit you like they did me!? do not trust them!! they may just kill your pet too.
