Don't ever hire these people!



On March 25, 2013, my parents, Richard and Brenda Shaw of Johnson City, NY, were hit by a tractor trailer, driven by David P. McGuinn , in Ralpho Township, Pennsylvania. ..

They were at a stand-still, waiting for oncoming traffic to pass, so they could make a left hand turn into their destination spot.The tractor trailer came downhill, full speed ( more than the posted limit of 35 mph ), hitting my parents Mustang from behind. He hit them so hard, they went airborne, before smashing almost head on, into an oncoming car. That car then spun them around, sending them back in the direction of the tractor trailer. The tractor trailer then hit my parents car again,, and went up onto the trunk of the car,crushing almost all of the car, and my parents.( Rupturing their gas tank ). It took medical, fire and police crews almost 40 minutes to free my father from the car, after using the "Jaws of life" to remove the roof and drivers door of the car.



My Mom's injuries consisted of 2 brain bleeds, one on each side of her brain. She also had broken ribs,broken collarbone,broken clavical, internal bleeding in her stomach, a hairline fracture in her right ankle, the "floor" of her left eye socket was broken, which can cause blindness at anytime.Also a broken sternum, broken upper left arm, and a huge ( approximately 3 inch long ) very deep gash down her shinbone.



My Dad's injuries were a crushed pelvis, broken left hip, tibia and fibula in his right leg ( that popped through his skin on impact, he now has a rod in his leg, basically from top to bottom, leaving him with no ankle. ), 4 broken ribs, 2 broken vertabrae in his back, broken sternum, huge gash on his right arm, and a broken left femur.He also hate to be on a ventilator, and was fed by feeding tube in his nose, both of which he was hooked up to for almost a week after the accident.They spent numerous weeks in ICU in Geisinger Medical Center, in Danville,Pennsylvania...3 hours away from their family and friends.



The driver of the tractor trailer has NOT been ticketed, nor charged with anything, in this near fatal accident, that has changed the quality of my parents lives. While we are all very grateful to have them here with us, The driver, and his company, Kovaschetz Trucking Sunbury, PA, NEED to be responsible for what the driver did to my parents..



The trucking company had no insurance on the day of the accident. Their insurance had been previously cancelled 3 days before the accident involving my parents. We have since found out, that the driver, and the company have been involved in other numerous accidents prior to this. AGAIN, NO CHARGES HAVE BEEN FILED AGAINST THE DRIVER, OR THE TRUCKING COMPANY. NO TICKETS HAVE BEEN ISSUED, AND THEY ARE STILL RUNNING THEIR BUSINESS. THEY ARE STILL ABLE TO GET UP EACH DAY, AND GO ON ABOUT THEIR DAILY LIVES.



THEY ARE ABLE TO WALK AND PLAY WITH THEIR KIDS OR GRANDKIDS.



THEY ARE STILL ABLE TO TAKE A TRIP TO THE STORE WITHOUT HAVING TO LOAD UP A MOTORIZED SCOOTER ONTO THEIR VEHICLE, AND THEN UNLOADING IT WHEN THEY GET TO THE STORE, ONLY TO REPEAT THE PROCESS ANOTHER TIME WHEN THEY GET BACK HOME.



THEY DON'T HAVE TO ATTEND THERAPIES NUMEROUS TIMES A WEEK.



THEY ARE ABLE TO TAKE THEIR OWN SHOWERS AND GO TO THE BATHROOM WITHOUT HELP.



THIS DRIVER TOOK SOMETHING AWAY FROM NOT ONLY MY PARENTS, BUT OUR FAMILY AS A WHOLE. SOMETHING MUCH MORE DEEP THAN NOT BEING ABLE TO DO A SIMPLE LITTLE TASK.
