I do not believe that there is enough parent concern or support in the Gadsden Ind School District to warrant a justifiable review. This can be illustrated by the poor voter turnout for the school board elections vs the number of parents who have children in the district. The culture there plays a tremendous role in how education is perceived. There is an aire of not caring about education and that of "someone always owes me". This aire is widespread throughout the population in the community. There are a tremendous amount of teachers and employees of the district that graduated from there. They can't seem to see the forrest for the trees. They have no idea of life outside that area and how simple things such as general humanity and concern for the well being of others plays a big role in your job, no matter what it is.



The daily business of running the district is done in large by people who play favorites with their relatives or friends who work in the district. Attention and funding seems to be given to those campuses and programs more who are favored by someone in a higher position, rather than studying the over-all benefit of the children in the entire district.



There are a lot of good children in GISD and a lot of good people who work there, however those people and students seem to get overshadowed by those who don't care about serving others, providing their children with education at home, or who are seeking personal gratification.
