SMaRT Station is a solid waste management and recycling center operated by the Sunnyvale Public Works Department. The center receives a variety of trash, concrete, dirt, demolition debris and other materials. It also offers the public an opportunity to see how garbage and recyclable materials are processed and sorted for recycling. SMaRT Station also offers bird and wildlife tours. The Sunnyvale Public Works Department constructs, maintains and improves the city s infrastructure. The department is responsible for the creation, operation and maintenance of pavements, street trees and concrete structures, as well as providing traffic and transportation planning services. The Sunnyvale Public Works Department also handles various sewer, stormwater and solid waste disposal systems.
