National Bank of Commerce is a Midwest regional bank with offices in Superior, Poplar and Solon Springs, Wis., and Duluth and Hermantown, Minn. The bank was originally chartered as Union National Bank of Superior in 1934. Union National Bank purchased the American Exchange Bank in 1935 and later changed its name to National Bank of Commerce of Superior when it purchased that bank in 1940. The bank established a holding company, NATCOM Bancshares, in 1998, which has since allowed it to open three new branch locations.
