Superior Water, Light and Power Company provides electricity, water and natural gas to the residents of Superior, Wis., and surrounding areas. SWLP and several other utilities, including municipalities and rural electric cooperatives, purchase electricity at wholesale from parent company, Minnesota Power. The company utilizes Lake Superior as its water source. It also partners with Minnesota Power Economic Development to offer economic development services, including assistance in maximizing energy efficiency and managing energy costs; a loan program intended to stimulate economic growth and diversification by providing below-market-rate financing to new; and expanding businesses and information on regional assets. The company is headquartered in Superior, Wis.
