American Laminators is one of the largest manufacturers of custom glued-laminated beams in the United States. The company manufactures glulam beams in a variety of shapes and sizes, including roof and truss members, marina planking, purlins, custom curve work, floor joists, and columns and headers. It is headquartered in Swisshome and its manufacturing plant is located in Drain, Ore. American Laminators s products are made out of different species of wood, such as Douglas fir and Alaskan yellow cedar. Its reinforced beams are manufactured with one or more thin layers of fiber reinforced panels. The reinforcing consists of high-strength fibers embedded in a matrix that are strategically placed between laminations to increase beam strength and stiffness.
