Provided by YP.comReally surprised to see two low reviews here. I've never had a better pediatric dentist before. My 11 yo son has autism and while he likes going to dentists, the sensory issues for any dental work are overwhelming. He always needs sedation. Amazingly, some local ped dentists still use Verced/papoose board! This office has a unique and brilliant way of doing sedation that is extremely gentle on kids. Here's what happens during a sedation:
Child sits on the parent's lap and everything is warm and friendly. Assistant comes out with a basket full of prizes. The nurse-anesthetist is very fast and sneaky-like, and with the kid still snuggled up to mom or dad, the arm already exposed, and he gives a shot. That isn't fun for the child, but it is FAST and immediately the child is told to pick prizes from the basket. They let him pick as many as he wants. He gets sleepy really fast, all this time still completely snuggled with mom or dad.
When he is totally unaware (medicine has taken full effect) THEN they have the parent bring the child back to an exam room and lay him in a chair. That's when the nurse-anesthetist puts in the IV and the medicine that will keep him out (though it's not a full general anesthesia, the results are the same and the child is totally asleep the whole time). All work is done, and then the parent is invited back to sit with the child until he comes out of the anesthesia. It does take a while to come out of it, but it's so worth it. The last person the child sees is the parent, and the first person the child sees is the parent.
Then they make sure he can eat a popsicle or drink something, and you're on your way. They have a wheelchair to help him out to the car as well, which is nice b/c my son's older now and I can't carry him that far.
I know this is long, but I wanted to make clear just how gentle this is for the kids. I haven't had billing problems as someone else has, but even if I had, I'd still gladly go here. I always thank them over and over for making it so gentle and respecting children.
I am a special ed nurse for a school district, so in addition to my own child I am familiar with the needs of special ed children. The nurse-anesth. is very thorough, listens to lungs before hand, and will not give anesthesia to a child whose lungs are not clear. I feel very safe with this person, as a mom and as a nurse.

Provided by YP.comI was a little worried reading the other reviews but I took my daughter there anyway and am so glad I did. The office staff was friendly and very welcoming upon arrival. The Dental Assistant Ty was so outgoing and made it fun for my daughter who has social anxiety. They have eye goggles that play movies while the Dentist works on the kids. I interacted with 6 of the staff there and all of them I feel went above and beyond to make it a enjoyable visit for my daughter. I highly recommend this office and will be back.

Dr. Wall and his staff are just terrible. Never seemed to care much about the kids. Several years ago he said my son had 4 cavities and basically traumatized him when they "fixed" them. On the next visit (which should have never happened), he said he had 2 more cavities!!? I couldn't believe it because we brush his teeth very well every day; anyway, when we went back to get the fillings the dental assistants were AWFUL, my son has asperger's syndrome and I explained them about his sensory issues and high levels of anxiety and they didn't seem to care, they restrained him like he was in a mental institution and asked me to leave the room. Most horrible experience ever! I didn't let them work on him and requested my x-rays. We looked for a different dentist who said my son DID NOT have cavitites...that was 2 years ago and still no signs of any cavities. Makes me wonder if he even had those 4 to begin with.

I have been going to this dentist with my 2 boys since we moved to Utah 2 years ago. Our first visit they informed me that my oldest had 2 cavities and needed a tooth pulled, he was only 2.5 at the time so they recommended sedation so we went and things went smoothly...although upon closer examination they discovered he had 5 cavities - ok I thought, maybe they couldn't see everything during the initial exam because my son wasn't super cooperative. Next visit 6 months later - no cavities! Next visit 6 months later - son now 4 so fully cooperative for x-rays, full exam. Dentist told me he had 2 small cavities - boo! Scheduled to have him sedated again (son does not do well with needles). Went to appointment - after he was sedated dentist informed me he had SIX CAVITIES - mind you this is less than a month and a half after x-rays! I was in tears...called my brother in law who happens to be a dentist and was told this was HIGHLY unlikely but what am I going to do my kid is already sedated

I love going to Kidz Dental Works! Dr. Wall and everyone there goes to great lengths to make my daughter who has many special needs, one of which is no adrenal system so she feels pain 10 times more than everyone else. They are very patient and kind with her. She was very apprehensive about going to the dentist but now is reassured she is going to be fine by the love that has been shown her. Thank you Dr. Wall and Staff!

Dr. Wall and his staff were incredible with my 4 yr old. She was extremely nervous for her fillings and was certain that she was going to die. The assistant took her hand, talked to her down the hall and helped her calm down. She cried a little for the shot but and was upset when they started drilling. Dr. Wall talked to her the entire time comforting her and helping her get through it. The assistant as well was patient and understanding. Dr Wall asked several times about how she felt; when he was done she had calmed down and gave him a high five! I would definitely recommend this office to anyone who has an anxious child, you wont be disappointed!

I took my extremely nervous children, ages 3 and 5 there for cleanings, and they were great. The problem arose when my 5 year old had to have fillings done. They never offered sedation, told us any options, etc. They had seen on other visits how nervous and apprehensive they had been in the past. They do the procedure with just gas (which did not help at all) didn't adequately numb his gums, and proceeded to do the procedure even though my son was screaming the whole time. They didn't even stop when he was crying so hard his nose started to bleed. They didn't let him calm down, offer us the opportunity to come back and have him sedated, nothing. They just kept telling him to be good, calm down, and they rushed the procedure with him feeling every part of it. They didn't apologize, try to make up for the bad experience, etc. When I called later and complained, they admitted they should have offered sedation, whoops! My son is now terrified of dentists, and refuses to go back.

Dr. Wall and his staff are great at making my child feel less fearful. They are so great with kids, and make them very excited to go. The office has a great kids playhouse that is always clean. I never have to worry about my kids playing there. They also do a great job with fillings and sealants making sure my child isn't afraid. The quality of work is excellent and holds up.
