At The Academy of Steve Curran Karate and Fitness we give our students self-defense skills at our facility in Tacoma, Washington. We have classes available from age 4 to adults. The skills that children learn at our classes will help them develop their self-esteem, self-discipline and self-defense skills. Our facility provides a wonderful and fun setting as they learn these important life skills. We teach our students how to be responsible members of society and that the skills they learn in our classes should only be used in order to protect themselves or their fellow man. At The Academy of Steve Curran Karate and Fitness we have four levels of classes: • Little Dragons and Tigers (Age 3 to 6) • Juniors (Age 6 to 11) • Teens (12 to 15) • Adult (16 and older) Our classes are designed to teach balance, coordination, flexibility, confidence, and leadership. We hear stories all the time that our classes have led to a child's improvement in behavior and school. Our mission is teaching valuable life lessons in an enjoyable environment. Our instructors all have tremendous amount of karate experience. Professor Kaicho Steve Curran Ph. D. is a 10th Degree Black Belt and an 11-time winner of the World Sport Karate Championship. He is passionate about helping others through karate and he emphasizes his motto of "Train Hard; Never Quit," to each of his student.
