Provided by YP.comThis is a situation involving my wife about the staff and how they handled a situation at Birth to Five Early Learning Center. My wife got berated by police because of misinformation fed to them by the staff at this establishment. A child (2.5 yrs old) my wife was babysitting walked out the back door and was picked up and taken to Five Early Learning Center just down the street. My Wife took all the precautions and actions to locate her and ended up at the learning center with the apartment staff and maintenance crew. The Learning center employee would not relinquish the child and called the police claiming that they spoke to the child's mother and that the mother said not to release her to my wife the babysitter. This is wrong because they have no way of knowing who the child's mother is or a way to contact her. This escalated the way the police responded as they interrogated my wife for a half hour being while very verbally abusive. After the mother was really contacted they released her into my wife's care. We then learned that the staff changed the childs diaper after they requested to and my wife told them that they did not have permission to. The staff claimed she was a little wet and my wife refused to allow them to change her though they did so anyway. The staff continuously requested my wife's information to try to manipulate the situation into a federal claim. They were upset when the police refused to give them this information and told the police that they were not doing their duty (this is what the police told us when one came to apologize once they discovered that the claims the staff were making were false). The officers talked to the person who initially found the child and deduced that the child was only unattended for 9 minutes. The abuse of power that the staff at Five Early Learning Center tried to impose was uncalled for, caused emotional trauma to both the child and my wife and caused confusion for the officers.
