In July of 2013 Jay M Haynie OD again noted that my Retinopathy was stable and there were no changes to the one cataract in my right eye and that it wasn't impairing my vision and that it didn't require treatment. He did note that my vision was worse and said I need new glasses again and offered me a referral to an Optometrist. I declined the referral and planned to go back to the clinic I'd visitied prior to 2012, America's Best Eyeglasses & Contacts in Tukwila, WA who I trusted to do a better job than Vista Optical did in 2012.

I went to America's Best on 8/22/13 thinking I now needed bifocals in additional to lenses for distance as it was getting difficult to read anything, Weihan Wang OD, said they couldn't get my eyeglass prescritpion any better as I had cataracts in BOTH eyes and needed cataract surgery to have any vision improvement.

I scheduled an appointment for a 2nd opinion with a cataract specialist, Dr Gary W Chung, MD at Evergreen Eye Center in Federal Way, WA on 8/27/13 and he confirmed that I do have cataracts in both eyes and the only way to improve my declining vision was to have cataract surgery. The eye that has the worst cataract on it is my left eye. Jay M Haynie only ever identified one cataract in my right eye which isn't even the worse of the two cataracts. I now have cataract surgery scheduled for both eyes. It has gotten to the point where I can barely read. I am hoping that the delay in the cataract diagnosis hasn't cost me any portion of my vision permanently.

Renton Clinic Used to be Great but Jay M Haynie Seriously Mis-Diagnosed Me! I have proliferative diabetic retinopathy. In 2012 Haynie said I had 1 small cataract that wasn't impairing my vision and didn't require treatment but I did need new glasses, which I got. They didn't help much. In 2013 Hayne said the cataract hadn't changed, wasn't impairing my vision and didn't require treatment but my vision was much worse & I needed new glasses again. This time the optometrist that I went to told me that I didn't need new glasses, I need cataract surgery in both eyes in order to repair my vision. By this point I could barely see to read & had thought I needed bifocals. I went to a cataract specialist to confirm and he said I DO have cataracts in both eyes and the eye that was the worst (now causing me to see nearly double when trying to read) was in the eye Haynie never even SAW a cataract in. I now have cataract surgery scheduled for both eyes & pray the delay in diagnosis doesn't cost me.
