I am a home owner that was looking to rent a 4 year old, 4 BR, 2.5 Bath, 2088 sq. ft. house in a gated community in Spanaway.  When I first put my house on the market, I hired Park 52 to advertise, rent and manage my property.  If you don t feel like reading the rest of this review, consider this...in 3 months of advertising my property Park 52 failed to show my property even one time.  I have a beautiful home and was frustrated that nobody had even come to view it; frustrated enough that I decided to advertise on my own on craigstlist.  Two hours later I had a showing request and nine days later I signed a lease with a nice family to rent the house.  During that time I had several other interested parties as well. 

I honestly feel like Park 52 stole $300 from me.

Colleen, the property manager I worked with, was always friendly and almost always got back to me in a timely manner.  However, she obviously wasn t making the renting of my home a priority.  After nearly three months working with Park 52 and not having our house shown once, my wife and I decided to give them one more week and then switch companies.  At the time, I had already placed my house on the market, and had received interest in the place.  The person that I ended up renting to (let s call her Q) had already contacted me to let me know that she was interested.  As we were still working with Park 52 I originally gave Q Colleen s number and instructed Q to go through Colleen.  Q later told me that although she left several messages with Colleen, Colleen never got back to her.    

I called Colleen to tell her my concerns and let her know that she had one week to produce results or we would take our business elsewhere.  I also explained to her that our financial situation didn t include paying the additional cost of our mortgage and tried to impress upon her that our house needed to be rented by the time we moved.  

Of course, she wanted us to stay with Park 52 and she assured me that she was working with a couple that was interested in our home.  However, her actions didn t match her words.  In the week between that call and when I ended my business with Park 52 Colleen didn t call or contact me once to update me on the property or any prospective renters.  Nor did she answer or return the calls from Q, whom Park 52 probably could have rented my place to and therefore, kept my business.  

A few days prior to the deadline I set, Park 52 called to set up 2 x viewing appointments for my house.   Finally, I thought, I made myself a priority.  Think again.  Both appointments were canceled last minute.  I found this strange, since this had happened on two previous occasions.  Three months on the market, 4 x viewing appointments, all of which were canceled last minute.  Considering everything else that happened I actually found myself wondering if they had made fake appointments to forestall me leaving.  I am not accusing them of doing this.  However, it is telling that they made me that suspicious of them.

To top it all off, when I sent an e-mail to Colleen to officially end my business with Park 52, I got an out of office reply stating that she would be on vacation for the next week.  Usually people set up vacations in advance, so I can hardly fault her for going on vacation when she did.  However, considering that 1) I had expressed how important it was to me to rent my house on time (within 5 days of her return) and 2) I had threatened to take my business elsewhere unless I saw some movement on renting my house, I would have expected her to at least call or shoot me an e-mail to let me know that she would be gone, tell me who I should speak with while she was gone and reassure me that they were working to rent my place.

Active Landlord

I own four rentals and have been doing business with Park 52 Realty in Tacoma, Washington for 25 years. It’s so nice to work with an agency that has the qualities that are so often missing in businesses in this day and age of declining ethics. They always treat people with respect and integrity. They go out of their way to make sure their clients are dealt with in a fair and appropriate manner. I would never hesitate to recommend Park 52 as a manager for homeowners who have rental needs or potential renters to use Park 52 to find a place to live.Roy M.

Good company to rent from

I have been a renter of Park 52 for the last 10 years and have been very happy with the service they provide. The property is kept clean, and I feel safe. They have always responded in a timely and satisfactory way to any problems that have arisen for me. They have an onsite maintance person who is able to respond very quickly, and when they have had to have work done by an outside service they always give plenty of notice. At one point my refrigerator stopped working I made one phone call and was told that if I would fill out a work order request they would be able to respond. The following working day they scheduled a time to deliver one for me to use until they could either repair or get me a new one. They ended up getting me a new one which is much nicer than the original one. They also reimbursed me for the food which I lost with no question. I stop by to pay my rent rather than mail it in because I enjoy saying hello to the staff. They are very fair when it comes to rent

Horrible Management

Horrible customer service, horrible to thier tenants and property owners alike, scam artisits, will never rent from this company again.

very rude

I called for some more information and they put me on a very long hold, and to top it off when I talked to someone they just had this attitude that they could be doing something better with their time. Told me to go to their website and they kept pushing me off the phone when I had more questions.

THIS PLACE SUCKS BIG TIME!!!!

ALOT OF DRUG DEALING, ONSITE MANAGER IS INVOLVED, PARK 52 DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO RUN A BUSINESS, OFFICE STAFF AND MANAGER HAVE THREATEND ME FOR TRYING TO SOLVE A PROBLEM, BIG MOLD PROBLEMS, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND IAM CALLING BBB TO FILE A COMPLAINT. I HAVE HAD TO CALL THE POLICE MORE THAN 5 TIMES JUST FOR ONE NEIGHBOR AND MANAGER WAS WITH THE NEIGHBORS AND INVOLVED. NOT A GOOD PLACE TO SPEND YOUR MONEY.MANY PEOPLE HERE ARE WAITING TILL THEY CAN MOVE OUT.

Unprofessional

This company has been very unprofessional in the short time we have worked with them. Poor customer service skills, and have failed to follow through on multiple occasions. I would NOT recommend this company to handle your property.
