Provided by YP.comToday at about 5:30 pm a 89 year old friend of mine and I were walking in the parking lot when a car driven by a young woman drove by much too fast for the clearance she had between my friend and I and the parked cars around us. I had to pull my friend close to me to avoid being hit by her car and I told the young woman to slow down that my friend was 89 years old . She just yelled that she was in her way.
The security guard was standing outside in clear view of what had transpired talking on his cell phone. When I approached the guard and told him what happened his only response was to laugh. He never spoke a word to me and only watched as the driver of the car exited her vehicle, with another woman, yelling and screaming at us.
When we entered the store both women continued a verbal assault on us and the security guard never moved from the spot where he was stationed outside and remained on his cell phone with his personal call.
When we came out of the store the security guard was still on his cell phone in the exact same spot. I'm just wondering exactly what is his job? Is he being paid to merely witness dangerous behavior or is his job to make personal phone calls?
The young woman was especially hostile and threatening to us while the security guard looked on. She made it perfectly clear that she felt we had no right to be safe shopping at Albertson's, and by doing nothing, the security guard, supported her in this. First we were victimized by the young woman, then we were victimized by the security guard.
In my opinion, anyone could easily become a victim while shopping at this Albertson's store, as the security guard has shown, his personal phone calls come first and the customer's personal safety comes last.
