What a great place to have a kids' birthday party! They were very nice over the phone and offered suggestions and ideas about our 8 year old's party. All we had to bring was the cake and the presents. They provided everything else...pizza, pop, ice cream, even the plates/napkins, etc. The DJ said our daughter's name and wished her a happy birthday, and we spent about 4 hours skating. Very organized, considering there were like 8 parties going on at the same time. Our daughter wants to do it again next year, and our son wants one now! Glad we have a rink in Tacoma!

I scheduled a birthday party at rollin' 253 for my little brother's 9th birthday. When I scheduled the party, they asked me when I wanted the party room reserved at the beginning of the session, the middle or the end. I asked for the middle, which would be somewhere around 1-2 pm for their 12-4 saturday session. I asked the party guests to come about 1230, which I thought would give me enough time to get situated at a table for before and after the party. When I walked into Rollin' 253 today @12:07 to check-in, I was informed that I had made it just in time since my party room session was going to start at 12:15 and end at 1 pm! I explained to the manager at the front desk that I had asked for a later time in the party room because i was having guests come at 12:30. This lady copped an attitude and said that I would just have to cut my party room session short. She refused to fix their mistake, and she talked to me like I was stupid. Because they refused to fix the problem, my little brother had no birthday party experience today, since his guests didn't start to arrive until 12:40. Rollin' 253 and its one lady manager are terrible. We ended up having cake and ice cream in a cramped booth right next to the rink. I will never ever ever spend money at this establishment again, and that is unfortunate because its locally owned and operated. Also, speaking to other party parents today, my party was not the only one to have had a bad experience with the managers lack of care and concern. That manager needs to be trained in proper customer service and Rollin' 253 should learn to keep in contact with people who have parties scheduled, so situations like this do not happen.
