Our History Suburban Opticians opened in Tacoma in January 1971. Owner Lloyd Neil has maintained this family-operated business with his daughter, Pam Rhodes as manager. Over the years, the business has concentrated in the Fircrest and University Place areas of Tacoma. However, the customer base reaches from Lacy to Puyallup to Federal Way and beyond. Five members of the staff are board-certified and licensed opticians in the state of Washington. Other staff members bring over 30 years of ongoing optical expertise to the company. Lloyd and his staff have always insisted on a solid basis of quality eye care, with a deep commitment to quality and customer service.
