I went to the wedding bell seeking a pretty simple dress as I am having a small wedding. They fit me with some ok dresses but they put one out that I loved. I went to put it on and it was too big. It was a size 20 and I normally wear a 12/14 in clothes. They tightened the dress up with clothes pins and it looked GREAT! I questioned them SEVERAL times if they could reallllly take it in that far. They said no problem and it would not cost much. I went a head and bought the dress as I really liked it.

I came back for my appointment with the alterations lady. With all the alterations ....it cost over half the cost of the dress!!! When you purchase the dress they say no returns or exchanges so I felt I had to trust them that they would fix it ....as this is what they do for a living. The seamstress stated it would be a lot of work and she was not sure how she would exactly taking the lace shoulders. I also stated during the initial purchase that I would want a slit put in the dress. The seamstress said it would be very difficult with the material and it may rip out if she did it....and it would cost an additional $150. I decided not to go with the slit as I had already spent almost $400 on alterations.

First fitting was a not good after the alterations. The front of the dress layed really weird and bumpy as the chifon did not lay well with the dress taken in that far. The shoulder straps were still really loose and off quite a bit. I left there in tears. The dress was not coming together well at all!! I should never have been shown a dress so big.

Second fitting was worse. The stomach material was still bumpy and would not lay right, seamstress said she could still try and work with it. My wedding is now 3 days away. The shoulder lace is two different wideths and looks bad, thinking of life long pictures. I took pictures before and after of the dress and they are obviously not right. The seamstress and manager both stated it is hard to make a dress come together after going down 6 sizes. I talked with davids bridal and a professional seamstress and all said you never go down more than two sizes in a dress.

The wedding only 3 days away I went to davids bridal and thankfully found a new dress that luckily needs no alterations. Davids Bridal exchanged my shoes as I had gotten a heel for my other dress and fit me for a veil. I contacted the owner Kim and her comment "all sales final and no refunds will be given. I'm very sorry , but no refund will be given and the dress is available for pick up."

I have pictures and will try for some sort of refund as I hired them to be the professionals to know how to fit and gown and what kind of alterations are possible. Next step will be the better buisness bureau and keep going from there I guess. Even though a buisness says no returns or refunds they should own up when they are in the wrong and miss inform someone to sell a product.

DO NOT GO TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT !

Won't let you take any pictures until you "sign the contract" for the wedding dress. Snooty, lecturing attitudes and high higher than average prices. This is Tacoma, people, not 5th Avenue NY.

BEWARE!!! I do not recommend this business. I spent $500 on a senior prom dress for my daughter including alterations to have the dress hemmed. When we got the dress home and my daughter tried it on two days before her prom the dress was dragging on the ground 5 inches with 5 inch heals. After 2 trips to the store the alterations were not completed and the owner was EXTREMELY rude. My daughter was in tears and I am a extremely unhappy customer.
