Very costly and the Doctor, Jeff Godbey only came in to tell me that it was going to be very costly to do all these tests he asked for

I did all of them for my cats urinary tract infection for $570+ other than the blood one, which costs $239, which would only indicate the severity of the infection, which with the other tests got diagnosed and received instruction to return my cat to health

but the action that must be taken and all the details of the results were not explained to me by the Doctor himself. The front desk attendant and male nurse, was very nice and attentive as much as his job allows him to... he himself came in shocked the Doctor had not spoken to me yet after waiting a while (on a not so busy day) and my comments on how it should be the least I should receive upon my visit...
he himself showed me the x rays and explained my cat is constipated and if he does not go number 2 to seek further veterinarian help, but no instruction was given on how to help the constipation or why this is happening, thanks to the internet I have been getting my answers and an opportunity to explain to other my experience here.

Also I wrote my full name Valentina Forero Malagon (two last names) and in the future I will clarify since I was written as Valentina D. MalagAn...

Also to add to the professionalism my cat's name is Snoop, and although the nurse was really nice, he joked about him being Snoop C.A.T so much the one time the Doctor did talk to me he talked about him with the wrong name as that is the one that was officially taken down, after hearing that name several times from the nurse I did say his name really just is Snoop.

It makes it better when the Vet treats your animal with Care not like a Car Mechanic.

I loved this dog like as if he was my son. Its funny how we can be so emotionally attached to our animals. I miss him very much, I took him here once they told me he would be fine and it was his last. Instead of telling me he was going to die they kept him on fluids for three days and when I arrived back they said pay 1800 dollars for what we did. Take him to his Vet and yours will continue treatment there on his kidneys they just need to be flushed. I went to my Vet that has graduated from Florida with a Docurate and has been a Vet for 30 years well respected in this community. He told me my dog had been given Anti Freeze and there was no turning because how far the Anti freeze had eaten his kidneys away. When i dropped off my dog to allied he weiged almost 80 pds when I picked him up he was about forty. You see my dog was given anti freeze and was gonna die right when I walked in the door they knew from reading the chart of kidney tests done from the very first one. they knew he was gonna die they kepted him alive just to get my money. I would have gave my own kidney for him. Its just sore in my heart, they could have just told me the truth from the get go. I couldnt figure out why the vet tec ran out the door after me and told me in the parking lot make sure you go to a vet thats gonna tell you whats really going on. Im so sorry Red I love you always and forever.

Puppy with Parvo

My 4 month old puppy, Harley, became ill during the day and after a trip to our regular vet, (a parvo test would come back negative), I brought her home where she got dramatically worse. By midnight, she didn't look like she'd make it till morning so at 1 A.M., we were walking into Allied with her. They told us, even though she had a negative test result, they were going to assume it's parvo and treat it aggressively with an I.V. of fluids and antibiotics. Harley was there for 6 hours and I believe it was those 6 hours that saved her life. We had to pick her up at 7 and take her to our regular vet to continue treatment for 4 more days but without Allied we wouldn't have her now. Everyone was sympathetic and tried to answer our questions with empathy but no sugarcoating. Expensive? Yes. For me to have Harley chewing on my slipper right now...totally worth it!

Thank Heavens for Allied

Last night we took our Shih Tsu in for a swallowed toothpick. She had been gagging so I put my finger in her mouth to clear it out & felt the toothpick. Our vet in Quincy referred us, we called & arrived apprx 11:10 pm. The staff was AWESOME!! She was sedated for a better look, it was not a toothpick it was her larynix tendon. The cost was well worth the peace of mind we came home with. BTW, we were home by 12:15 am.

It is about the money there

I took my cat there. He had kidney disease and was in bad shape. Yes, they took good care of him-but the cost was $2000.00 for less than 12 hours treatment. Then when I had a problem with the check, they never contacted me and did contact the Attorney General and now I have a felony and am considered to have been arrested. Be advised--be careful of this clinic.

not about the money

I have to say the care my dog got was the best! Even the she could not be saved the took very good care of her and myself telling me everything up front. They explained the cost and the options I had. I love my little Bell so much and would have payed any amount of money to save her. I would have gladly paied the thousands if it would have saved her but we have to understand that may not be what is best for the animal just because it's what we want. There is a time for all things to die its not up to us. It not about the money the for these Vets it is about the animals and they are giving up their night and weekens and holidays to hepl the animals when there is an emergency and do have a right to be paied just like anyother doctor. If your vet is so good why are they not open 24/7 for your pet I want to say thank you so much for the care and kindness I and dear Bell recivied for the Doctors and Stall. I pray if I need them again the will be there for my pet.

Not about the money

From what I have heard from most people pets come first at Allied. Yes treatment costs, would you expect your doctor not to charge you for medical care. Most people don't plan on emergency care for their pets. And the other people are right these people that work at any emergency for both people and pets work all holidays, weekends and most all night. So get over it your dog was treated, which if it was not turned over to them it would or could have died then how would you feel? These people are the best and I have had my dogs here many times. It is unfortunate that money has to be an issue. What did you want them to do give her back to you for free?

I AGREE IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY

I TOOK MY 8 WEEK OLD DASHSHUND PUPPY, THAT WAS GIVEN TO ME BY MY BROTHER-IN-LAW TO ALLIED. SHE (JILL) WAS EXAMINED AND I WAS BROUGHT AN ESTIMATE OF ALMOST $2,500.00 FOR TREATMENT AND THEN DIDN'T KNOW IF SHE WOULD MAKE IT. I WAS BROUGHT A FORM TO SIGN OVER MY OWNER RIGHTS, WAS TOLD THAT JILL WOULD BE TREATED AND ADOPTED OUT IF SHE MADE IT. I WAS SO HURT AND I COULD NOT AFFORD TO PAY THIS KIND OF MONEY NOT KNOWING IF SHE WAS EVEN GOING TO MAKE IT. I HAD TO LEAVE AND LET MY HUSBAND TAKE CARE OF SIGNING JILL OVER. WE HAD TO PAY $89.00 FOR THE EXAM. I CALLED TO SEE HOW SHE WAS DOING. TODAY I WAS TOLD THAT JILL WAS ADOPTED. THIS BROKE MY HEART. I DON'T THINK THAT THE PERSON WHO ADOPTED JILL HAD TO PAY $2,500.00. I FEEL LIKE THEY JUST TOOK HER FROM ME. I WILL NOT USE THEM AGAIN AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO THEM. AGAIN THEY ARE JUST FOR THE MONEY. I LOVE AND MISS JILL AND THINK OF HER EVERYDAY. I HOPE THE NEW OWNER WILL ONLY LOVE HER AS MUCH AS I DO.

Both care and kindness

We've been very satisfied with the quality of care and kindness of the staff both times we had occasion to need after-hours emergency care. Once was for an emergency condition that required stabilization, so that our pointer/lab mix could safely wait until Monday morning to see his regular vet, and once for a sudden but not entirely unexpected euthanasia for our aging, terminally ill spaniel mix. The admin staff, assistants, and doctors were professional, helpful, and sympathetic, and we will always be greatful that the Tallahassee area has such a wonderful resource.

Thank you

My cat got into a horrible cat fight with a stray after he escaped through our front door. His leg had been cut wide open and was bleeding really bad. The vet at Allied and the technician were very understanding and took really great care of my baby. I appriciate the fact that they gave me a quote on what the treatment would cost ahead of time. It helps take away some of the (financial) stress that I was feeling at the time. I was able to concentrate on my cat and not feel guilty because I was more concerned with what it "might" cost me. As I was sitting in the waiting room, I was able to call my husband and tell him a quote, and it put his mind at ease as well. It didn't cost nearly as much as we had thought it would for a Sunday morning emergency vet visit. Our cat is doing very well, although he isn't too happy about being "our little cone head"! We came from Wakulla to Allied because there is not an emergency vet in our area, and our local vet has always reccommended Allied, now I

In a panic...

My little baby wasn't on the verge of losing her life, but I didn't know what was wrong with her. I rushed all the way from Shell Point in a panic b/c I didn't know what happened to my dog but she was showing signs that something was terribly wrong. We called on the drive in and they prepared a room for her and quickly got her in. The staff was very friendly, helpful and compassionate towards my dog. If I am ever in an emergency situation again with my dog, I will be going to Allied. I understand why I was charged $125 for fluids and steroid eye drops - like the poster below said, it is Emergency Care. Not to mention, the people that work there probably never see family holidays because they are open for all of us when everyone else is closed. Thank you for your service.JD

Caring and Compassionate

Our cat companion of 17 years suffered a heart attack and the clinic staff were understanding and compassionate regarding our distress at her condition and final rest. We could not have expected more from people who only knew of Twiggy from memory. Thank you to the staff. We would recommend this clinic to anyone requiring emergency animal companion care.

My dog is still alive today because of Allied

It is wonderful that we have somewhere to take our pets when our regular veterinarian isn't available! Surrounding communities are not so lucky and in an emergency, time is of the essence. We are very fortunate to have a facility less than 30 minutes from anywhere in Tallahassee. Emergency care is expensive, you have to expect that before leaving your house, but it is worth every penny when you're able to save your pet's life because you had somewhere to turn to at 3am. We'd have a lot more unhappy endings if we were forced to wait 8 hours until our regular vet opened up.

compassionate pet care for 15 - 20 years [i'm guessing]

i've had dogs since 1976 when we had no centralized pet care until about 15-20 years ago. before allied there was a long wait until the vet got to the clinic as we had no 24 hour emergency care. It's All About the Money!!

The clinic is now at 2324 Centerville Road. We took our cat to this clinic on a Sunday. After the technician removed our cat from the examining room, they returned with sheets of printed options of how much it would cost to examine her. There was little compansion. It was like buying a car! Our bill was $175 more ($575 total)than the quoted estimate and when we questioned the cost to the reciptionist she made no offer to get an explanation, just continued to quote the cost. Since our cat was more traumatized than when she got there, we left as quickly as possible. She died the next morning in route our wonderful regular Vet at Bannerman Pet Care. If you care about your pet don't go here.
