The commission maintains a work force of over 1,900 employees. It has nearly 70 field offices. The commission operates the divisions of law enforcement, marine fisheries management, hunting and game management, and habitat and species conservation. It additionally operates the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission provides plant management services and is governed by the State of Florida.
