Florida Rock provided 4 trucks of cement for a driveway replacement. The next day, 3 horizontal cracks appeared and several more the next few days. The driveway was not used for 2 weeks. Numerous problems have developed in the concrete - sand rising to the surface, spontaneous cracking, area discolorations (including circles, stripes, etc.) in 1 week. Florida Rock took pictures of the cracks and determined that the driveway was structurally sound, none of the problems is due to the mix, and the entire fault was the contractor who finished the concrete. Florida Rock provides the mix, delivery, and pouring but seemingly takes no responsibility for the product. They dispatched two trucks and one had to sit for 2 hours waiting resulting in water being added to the mix which Florida Rock initially criticized and later said was not a problem. A person would think that part of this situation is the result of bad concrete mix. Big business vs homeowner = little guy loses. This could be you.
