Fort Braden Elementary School, located in Tallahassee, Fla., is named after two prominent and influential brothers, residents of Leon County more than 150 years ago, and is a public school that is part of Leon County School District. Established in 1902, it offers classes from grades kindergarten through eight, and enrolls more than 600 students. Its curriculum contains all the benchmarks in applied technology, dance, foreign languages, health education, language arts, mathematics, music, physical education, science, social studies, theater, and visual arts in the appropriate grade clusters. It provides for hands-on opportunities, working as a team, to solve various given problems, and often the focus is not on the solution, but on the process used to arrive at that conclusion. Fort Braden Elementary School also offers sports, such as softball, football, basketball, baseball, track and cheerleading, and various clubs and activities that include drama and band.
