That is the 12 Step Fellowship. Although controversial in its success rate as of recent times we had to ask what has changed in what being taught. Facts are as follows, the 12 Step message as it was originally intended has become extremely water-downed. It has been replaced with what we call in the industry & contemporary recovery. Our highly trained and experienced 12 Step practitioners aren't re-inventing the wheel, just bringing it back to its precise, clear cut direction that so many have gotten away from. The common problems are as follows: we cannot gain a solution to a problem that we know nothing about. 85% of clients receiving clinical treatment are uninformed about the 12 Steps. They have little notion as to what the illness of alcoholism/addiction is, even if the trend is to say, I am addicted. When asked what alcoholism and addiction is, often they cannot define it. They are deluded about themselves, life in general, their problems, and the solution. A critical component in the 12 Step fellowship is coming to believe in a power greater than yourself. We have found that our biggest road block, the common theme for people trying to get into recovery for the first time is the misperception and conceptions of the word spiritual and God. Our practitioners have found ways of shattering old, limiting belief systems, so that our clients can approach this with an open mind. This is essential to recovery.
