Our Junebug had a persistent cough, and we had gotten a really nice letter from Hyde Park Veterinary Clinic for a FREE examination of a new pet. They are 6 doors from my house so we HAD to try them out, even though we had taken our Junebug to another vet for years. You can't walk-in there, which we tried....we came back two days later with an appointment. I wouldn't say the front staff is warm and friendly: they are more 'professional' than that. Junebug got her exam, they took her away for 2 minutes for tests. The vet was professional and knowledgeable, and she recommended $250 in tests to determine the nature of the cough. As we were walking out, we were stopped to check out. The young male technician barked out "$71.65" with no explanation of the charges. I paid. And vowed not to come back. So, if you get a letter for a free examination, you've been warned.

This clinic turned me away in an emergency situation. My dog was very ill and I had to fly out of the country. They couldn't squeeze her in. Heartless. : (
