Provided by YPmobileI'm subtracting one star because of one employee. Overall this is a wonderful post office and most of the employees there have be very professional and delightful to deal with.
I'm also subtracting one star for no delivery and pick up only.
To clarify, I really do like this post office, however, here is my main issue:
I'm a disabled, mid-fifties woman w a heart condition, drug resistant high blood pressure ( really high) and major back problems.
I understand we need to personally pick up our mail. I have no transportation and this is a rural area, so I call ahead to see if there's anything in my box.
The post office is a great distance from where I live and that also involves two very steep hills at a 40 and 45 degree incline respectively. I cannot walk these hills and a round trip car service costs me $15 a pop. I'm on SSDI, and just about scrape thru each month w rent and bills. I cannot afford to just throw away $15 for no reason and today I was told that I have to come down and check my box for myself, in no uncertain terms.
I walked twice last week, only to pass out on one occasion.
Anytime I've called, most of the employees are pleasant and accommodating, however one is always curt or rude, and today I was "put in my place"..... She knows I have a blood pressure issue as I've explained to her on several occasions when apologizing for calling.
It takes all of 3 seconds to view my box from behind her counter, as it is literally 2 feet away and waist level. She doesn't even need to step away from her counter, and even if she's servicing a customer, it takes the time of a sneeze to just look. I've been waiting on very important time sensitive papers from Social Security, which are late to begin with, and have called to see if they're there. I cannot walk down everyday to check and can't afford $15 everyday for a car service, and today I'm told it's my responsibility to show up and check myself.
What's happened to customer service and a simple courtesy for someone w major health issues?
Overall I like this post office when anyone else is working there, but I cannot abide rude people, especially when I always try to be cheerful w everyone.
If she doesn't like dealing w people she should not be doing this job. I wonder how she'd do in the post offices in Brooklyn and NYC....
If she sees this review, she will know who wrote it. I hope she remains professional and doesn't sabotage my mail...
