• Solid Rock Community School provides a seamless educational experience as the student progresses from elementary grades through high school.
  • Each child is met and addressed where they are individually. The materials and challenges they are given are matched to their ability to ensure success and to provide them with a true sense of joy and accomplishment.
  • While learning is natural, instruction must be systematic and intentional. Solid Rock Community School teachers hold high expectations that their students will thrive. They hold themselves responsible for their students growth. They are skilled in assessing their students strengths and areas of need. They encourage the areas of strength and carefully design new ways to guide the student through their difficulties. At Solid Rock, we recognize that it is not enough to prepare a student for college- they must also be prepared for life; through citizenship, self-knowledge, and independent decision making.
  • Just as each child develops naturally with regard to their studies, so too is there a natural progression in the way they view themselves and interact with others. Woven through our curriculum is an emphasis on the development of values and character. It progresses to having a full awareness of others and the qualities that are always valued in a human being: respect, generosity, kindness, cheerfulness, confidence, and compassion.
  • Our students love to come to school because they are constantly challenged, guided, and loved.
  • Review Week: The SRCS calendar differs from other schools calendars. Like public schools, we operate in two semesters. However, instead of  four 9-week quarters, we have six 6-week sessions. This provides the same number of school days and a very similar start and end date, but with one week breaks (review weeks) in between each session.  This allows students experiencing academic difficulties in the classroom an opportunity to catch up to the pace of the class before classes resume.

    • Allows the student who has fallen below the pace of the class one-on-one tutoring.
    • Allows students whose grades and end-of-session exams reflect that they are struggling in a specific skill or concept to receive tutoring or small group support .

Review Week attendance is by invitation only.  Although it is optional, is it highly suggested for any student invited to participate. Invitation means there is a concern over the students ability to successfully move forward with the pace of the class.  Review Week allows the opportunity for no student to be left behind!

Instead of taking many teacher planning days throughout the school year, we save these for Review Weeks.  Our families love the little differences of our school calendar!

Anyone who is searching for a private school would be well advised to consider this school. They have created a community of people who love kids, love God and live out their lives with character. We currently have four of our six children enrolled and they all love to GO TO SCHOOL. That is not common. This school is not common. From the unique approach to teaching and learning to the unique schedule, I can not say enough about this school. We plan on enrolling our 4 year old next year and pray that when she graduates high school that is will be from Solid Rock Community School.

This is the first school in years that my teenage son is truly excited about getting up and going to. He says that it is not at all like public school and that the kids are just nice. It is a great place to send your kids and as a parent, I feel safe doing it.
