Located in Tarzana, Calif., Portola Middle School is an educational institution that provides academic classes to more than 850 students in grades six through eight. The school offers educational classes in vocal and instrumental music, agriculture, world languages, social studies, science, physical education, math, language arts and English. Portola Middle School has a guidance department that counsels students regarding educational needs and personal problems. It organizes a range of athletic activities, such as cross country, football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, track and field, wrestling, baseball, softball and tennis. It is a part of the Orange Unified School District, which operates more than 40 schools, including elementary, middle and high schools.
