I have done business with R and R for several years now. However, about three years ago, our well failed on, or about Christmas day. They came out the next day and replaced the control box. (Franklin Electric) It seemed to be fixed. About two weeks later, our water went out again. They replaced the pump. (not sure of the brand) It seemed to be fixed. A little over a year later, the control box failed again. They replaced it. It seemed to be fixed. About a year and a half later (present day now), the control box failed again. This time, they replaced it with a unit made by Pentair.
However, our heating and air conditioning units are water source systems, meaning that they take water from our well to function for both heat and air. Those units require a lot of well water, but the tech said, our pump was only rated at 7 gallons a minute, and suspected that size pump would not supply the needed flow to the heat and air units. The tech said we needed a bigger pump, and told me it would be replaced under warranty. He would get back to me in a couple of days. He never did. We have water, but are only able to run one heat and air unit at a time. Running both units at the same time drops the pressure to a level which send the control box into a fault mode.
I have now tried for over a month, just to get them to return my phone call to explain why they haven't replaced my pump under warranty as the tech promised. (I tipped him $50 bucks the first time he came out, because he got me up and running and seemed to be professional. I appreciated that.)
The tech said I would only be charged for the fee to pull and replace the pump. I was fine with that. However, after calling once a week now for over a month, and being assured by the receptionist that she was passing my messages on, they have still not returned my call.
Tomorrow, I have another company scheduled to come out and take a look at the problem. I don't know if R and R just doesn't want to honor the warranty or what, but I do know that I will probably need to have the pump upgraded to a bigger unit at significantly more cost that what I was assured R and R was going to charge me.
I don't know if that's why they will not return my call, or if is for some other reason, but I will no longer be doing business with them. I think calling repeatedly and waiting a month was being more than patient on my part. It's a mystery which I have not been able to get a satisfactory answer for, so I will be moving on. I would be very hesitant before considering doing business with R and R. They are apparently not the company they used to be.
