My front right tire had a slow puncture, so I took it to The Tire Store to fix. The technician tells me he can't find anything wrong. He tells me he can't find a leak, and therefore can't do anything. So I say "okay" and wait for him to put the tire back on. So what does he do? He changes the valve stem without asking me and charges me $50.00 for the privilege. Bear in mind that he did not identify the original valve as leaky. So, there I was, thinking maybe he simply took the initiative and had solved my problem. Not so! Directly after leaving The Tire Store I drove to Bakersfield from Tehachapi during which I lost 10psi from the tire he had just "fixed," whereas I'd only lost a max of 5psi per day before taking my car to The Tire Store. Which means that The Tire Store WORSENED my slow puncture! So, not about to return my car in to the folks who failed to fixed a super-simple problem, I instead took it to Firestone in Bakersfield and got the problem fixed. They told me that the valve stem The Tire Store had installed was done incorrectly, and told me the stem kit needed to be replaced, which they did for $10.00 less that The Tire Store charged me to WORSEN MY PROBLEM! Needless to say, the problem was fixed.
Don't let the positive reviews for The Tire Store fool you. The staff is incompetent. You'd be better off driving the extra distance to Firestone where they not only know what they are doing, they guarantee their work.

Provided by YP.comThe Tire Store is hands-down the very best place in Tehachapi not only for tires, but fluid checks, general once-overs and quick fixes. I previously would not let ANYONE else change the oil or perform general maintenance on my pickup that I can easily do because I fear some wingnut cross-threading my filter, oil drain plug or some such nightmare.
After I began taking a fleet of 25 vehicles into The Tire Shop for such things (as well as all new tires at great prices!) I learned quickly that I don't have to worry about that (above) sort of thing with Gary's team who are all extremely friendly, helpful, talented and professional men. When I now don't have the time, I simply take my pickup into The Tire Shop and his guys take care of me quickly and professionally, and I have no worries whatsoever about the quality of their workmanship. I drive away with confidence that everything was done right, as I would have done it, and simply dismiss the matter from my mind as opposed to worrying about it and stopping on the side of the road to check everything as I might normally have done, then continuing to worry about it (and re-check everything) for weeks.
I have purchased several sets of BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KOs for my personal rig from Gary (as have several members of my family) and am about to buy yet another set from him tomorrow. As always their prices beat all local prices and compete with or beat city prices to the point where it just makes no sense at all to take your business out of town even if I were inclined to do such a thing, which I am not. I have also purchased roughly 25 sets of similar BFG (with a couple sets of Hankooks thrown in for comparison) tires for the fleet vehicles to which I previously referred. Everyone at The Tire Store was always extremely accommodating with our often spur of the moment needs that kept -- or threatened to keep -- someone there past business hours, and they never minded that I very often worked out of their waiting room, and joked that it was my "second office."
Far above average hometown service, quality, inventory, technicians and management. Not only *would* I recommend The Tire Store to my friends, but I HAVE and often DO recommend them to friends and colleagues.
If I could give The Tire Store **10-Stars** out of **5-Stars**, I would do it. And no, I don't work there, am not related to anyone who works there, and have no personal relationships with anyone who works there. I am simply an extremely satisfied customer.

Provided by YP.comMost unprofessional business I have ever been to. Took my car in for an oil change because my son was taking it out if town the next day. Halfway home from his trip the check engine light came on. I had to tow the car home. When we checked the car it was so full of oil the oil was halfway up the dip stick and dirty. They did not change the filter nor did the change the oil they just added to what was in there. Called the owner he apologized and said to bring the car in. When we brought the car back in we were harassed by the workers. Never again will I go there!

Provided by YP.comThe Tire Store is very friendly, professional and courteous. I have a hard to find tire size and they always have what I need in stock at a very reasonable price. The lowest prices I have found in my city. I will never think of any other store to buy my tire needs. Thank you, Tire Store, for an excellent experience every time!
