We had dinner on our anniversary...and boy, were we so glad we went there. The food was awesome and service super. I had called up the restaurant in advance and they did a candlelight and wrote a anniversary note on the desert order. My wife was pleasantly surprised. They even went out of the way to serve a wine that was not part of the package (wednesday night special). Highly recommend for great food and service.

This is a very tactile dining experience. The food is absolutely the best that you can find in Tempe and the price cannot be beat. Each person usually orders 2 (or 3 if you're really hungry) dishes at about $5 each. These come served family style on a large platter served over Ethiopian flatbread. If you are adventurous, try the kitfo. It is a smoked beef tartare dish served raw. Delicious!The atmosphere, although far from fancy, is incredibly comfortable. Whenever I have a visitor from out of town, I bring them here.

Here is a very interesting place to learn and eat! This is authentic Ethiopian fare where you eat sort of family style without utensils. You can choose veggie or meat and the meal is served with Injera bread you use to scoop up food from a large platter. There is also a good selection of wine and incredible Tiramisu if you can manage dessert. A great place for the family to educate the kids and yourselves about a different way of dining and a great place for a first date. Plus, the food is fabulous and moderately priced. Everyone should check our Lalibela at some point.
