Provided by YP.comI am one of the most passive people you will meet, but Gateway will take any opportunity to take advantage of your good nature if you have it. SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ELSEWHERE - or you will regret it.
Believe what you read about Gateway apartments; what you pay is not what you get, and what you have signed on to pay.. think again. The management at Gateway will look for any reason to charge you in excess of what you signed on your contract (and goodluck if you want to argue that.. Gateway is owned by a larger company with deaf ears).
I chose Gateway because it came with furniture and I had a tight budget to begin with. I have been charged in excess of $1000 more than what I had originally budgeted for. This does not include my deposit that I won't be getting back due to damages caused by my housemates.
When I initially moved in, my 15 year old mattress (still had the manufacture tag attached) had a large blood stain on it and I was advised that if I followed through with a maintenance request they were obligated to destroy the mattress, but I would have to buy a new one myself as they had no more to replace it with.
I was assigned an underage housemate and another in the military, so having people over was an absolute no, and making noise after 9pm? - forget about it. My housemates stole my food on a regular basis, blocked up the kitchen sink with food waste and vomit and moved in their abusive boyfriends (yes, the walls are thin... If you aren't hearing "love" noises, you will hear the arguments).
There are frequent thefts around the property (particularly bikes - I personally know of 9 that were stolen in my 4 month lease there, including my own) and most of the video cameras are fake (including the one at the 1595 entrance) so don't hold your breath to have anything recovered.
The gates are regularly broken, the floodlights around the property are generally off (I fell as a result of this and am still having problems - I was advised this was a maintenance issue and not a safety hazard. It was still not resolved afterwards), and there is constantly trash around the property thanks to careless residents.
If you came here to party, think again also. There are families and international college professors scattered around the property who are only too happy to call in a noise complaint or highlight underage drinking.
I could go on for days if given the chance, but trust me when I say that you are better off staying elsewhere if only for your money.
