Provided by YP.comThis place is #1 on my list for delicious, inexpensive, ma and pop run places to eat when I'm in the ASU area. My favorite things to eat here are the Chicken Shwarma and Gyro. Don't miss their hummus, handmade pita (be sure to specify) and the delicious spiced ice tea. Your 'check' comes in the form of a little paper tab on your table and you pay at the counter... where you can also pick up a variety of amazing baklava and Turkish Delight candies.

I have always loved their food, and service has been mediocre, but today was bad enough that I am now looking for a new place permanently! I am a single mother of 3, we go out to eat when we celebrate. Everyone (including me) received straight A's in school, so I took all 3 of my children to eat lunch. We waited over 45 minutes before we received our food, while people that were seated after us received and ate theirs. No explanation was give, we were not checked on while we waited. When the food came, I asked for plates (we had two combination platters) and ordered extra bread (there were only 2 pieces of pita). The waiters never brought plates, bread, refilled drinks, or checked on us. My seven year old ate over his napkin, while me and the older girls made do with the platters as well as we could. Of course, since there was not enough bread and we could not get any attention, we did not eat more than a few bites each. I went and picked up my own to go containers and packaged our food up so that we could bring it home and eat the rest. When I paid, I mentioned it to the cashier, and he said, yeah, his dad knows, and was not concerned. I have gone to Haji Baba's faithfully for the last 5 years, but I will definitely be finding a new place to eat. I would rather pay the prices at My Big Fat Greek Restaurant...they may charge a bit more, but they treat me like a valued customer!

Haji Baba's is among the best Middle Eastern restaurants in the Valley. The menu is very complete and easy to understand, the prices are outrageously reasonable, and the service is fast and friendly. Whatever you do, don't leave without trying some baklava. It too, is the the best in town. Plus, the building also doubles as a supermarket, so when you're done eating take a quick stroll around the store, you'll be glad you did. Their spice isle is unmatched in selection, quality and price. You'll find treats here that you won't find anywhere else. There also appears to be a light-rail stop right in front of the place!
