I've had (2) occasions to bring my 2003 GMC Envoy to Tri-City Transmission. The first time was for a diagnostic service that resulted in not having to have any repairs done and the second time was for a scheduled maintenance. On both visits to the shop I was impressed with the professionalism and honesty of all the people I had contact with. I would highly recommend this shop for all of your vehicle maintenance issues.

I have an older SUV (1999 Ford Expedition) that I use to pull my 7,000+ pound trailer, roughly 6,000 miles a year. After many years of hard work the transmission gave out. I have dealt with many transmissions companies over the years, so I was concerned about finding the right transmission repair shop. Whitey's in Scottsdale (I have been using them for many years for normal repairs) recommended Tri-City Transmission, and I am so glad that they did. Everyone I met and talked to was professional and talked straight without any transmission lingo. Even when they thought they were done, the owner did one last quality check and notified me that the transmission did not meet his high quality standards, and they tore it apart again and found another minor part that needed to be replaced. I am certain I would never have known of the faulty part and they could have saved some time by giving me a transmission with a minor problem. They communication was excellent, they called when they said they would call and provided all the information I needed to make an informed decision. These folks have their act together. I would recommend them highly if you think you have transmission issues.

I was headed to flagstaff in my 2000 Honda Accord when my vehicle quit. I got towed to the closest shop. The shop diagnosed the clutch had gone out. I did some internet research and found Tri-City Transmission who is much closer to my home. I called them. I quickly felt more comfortable with them knowing this was there line of work. They settled the charges with the other shop, had the vehicle picked up, and had the clutch work finished the following afternoon. Tri-City Transmission was a Great Experience!

Provided by YP.comI called to schedule the $78.00 diagnostic that they offer and as we scheduled the service. Randy told me that there could be multiple diagnostic fees, one for each problem diagnosed. I asked about it and he said you are not the type of customer we want (what one that is informed and asks questions in advance to better understand?) I explained that we have been a customer for years with no problems. He shared that I would have to speak with Dave the owner and he would have him call me. Dave left a message and I returned his call each of three days as he never returned my call. I explained that I did not understand why I was talking with him. He just stated that they can choose their clients and I am not one of them. REALLY? Sounded like they have things to hide from informed customers.....that is pretty much what I am finding in the reviews online. READ them before you deal with them....at least I was spared the bad customer service and poor service.

I recently took my 1966 Chevelle to Dave at Tri-City for a noisy rear differential. After diagnosing the problem he contacted me and suggested a plan to correct it. We agreed on the repairs needed to correct the problem and they proceeded with the work. He stayed in touch with me thru out the process and completed the work very quickly. Also I would like to say the cost of the repair was less than quoted. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Thanks Dave for a great job.

preekl 8912I took my 1999 Isuzu Rodeo to Tri-City for transmission repair and they did an outstanding job of locating a very delicate electrical problem that took several days to solve. This led to a repair that literally saved me thousands of dollars! They exhibit the highest level of integrity and really are courteous and competent in their service. I recommend them highly!

I was looking forward to moving from from Wisconsin to Phoenix. Unfortunately during my drive here, I knew something was going on with my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee transmission (had the car since new so am familiar with it). When Iâd take off from a stop the engine would rev up and wouldnât move until I gave it more gas. I googled the cost of transmissions and found it could be anywhere from $1800 to $3500 to replace or rebuild. Great I thought, another expense to add to my move!!! Because this problem just started I hoped things would be okay until I arrived in Phoenix. Lucky for me I made it here.....without it getting worse.Thank goodness I love talk radio. If it werenât for my turning on the radio and hearing Bumper to Bumper (FM 92.3) when I arrived in Phoenix on a Saturday, I wouldnât have known where to take my Jeep without being taken for a ride (pardon the pun) and especially being female. I heard Dave Riccio (the Co-Host and owner of Tri-City Transmission) who talked about cars in laymanâs terms and I knew Iâd be giving Tri-City Transmission a call on Monday.I called and spoke with Dave Smith who took all my information, made an appointment for me to bring it in the next day and even suggested a car rental company with special rates for Tri City's customers. Thinking the worse when I received a call from Mark (within 24 hours), he presented me with WONDERFUL news. He said I was two quarts low on transmission fluid, that my hoses were leaking and it would cost me $271.00 and that I was lucky I brought it in when I did because I could have blown the transmission. When I said âyouâre kiddingâ, he said, âis that good or badâ? I told him it was wonderful news, just made my day and my move to Phoenix even better. Hate to say it, but if I would have taken it to a dealership Iâm sure it would have been in the thousands! I learned it was German who performed the service on my Jeep. What a team of professionals!Dave Riccio called me the next day telling me my Jeep was ready and the final cost (still $271.00). Nothing like an owner calling his customers and then greeting them upon arrival. Both Mark and Dave Riccio said calling customers with this kind of news is the best kind of call they like to make. I would take my Jeep (or any future cars) to Tri-City Transmission and would not hesitate recommending them to anybody!Thank you Tri-City Transmission.....Marsha P.

Honest, reasonable, knowledgeable and goes the extra mile. We could not find anyone to recommend a transmission specialist in Tucson so we drove our problem vehicle to Tri-City. Dave kept us updated on the diagnosis throughout the process. He even went the extra mile to contact the dealer. We saved thousands of dollars going to Tri-City.

I brought my car in to Tri-city Transmission and the mechanics there diagnosed the problem and managed to get it repaired 100% under warranty. They were honest and friendly and they communicated with me every step of the way. They made sure I got just the service I needed, no more and no less. I would highly recommend Tri-city to anyone who needs transmission work.

Tri-City Transmission is the Best in the West (southwest). I have never had such an awesome experience with these First Rate, First Class group of professionals. My car I was told had to have my transmission replaced the first quote I received was $6000. I almost had a heart attack. My good friends said get another quote. They recommened Tri-City Transmission and I had 2 other companies referr them also. There is no transmission they cannot fix. Listen to their ad on the radio..they are so up front and honest and it was to refreshing to have a BIG company go that extra mile. They wanted to find out really what was going on with my car they didn't buy into the lie I was being told. They are very good at communicating with you EVERY step of the way and they even had a car for me at no cost to me to drive while they worked on my car for as long as it took them to finish the work needed on my car. I did not have to have a new transmission it was a computer problem. Call them they are #1.

Both my wife and I have had occasion to use Tri-City and the results were fantastic. In both our cases, another provider wanted to just sell us a new transmission. These guys diagnosed minor problens, fixed them promptly, saving us thousand of dollars. I would never go anywhere else for a transmission issue.MJM

At the beginning of April my wife purchased a 2005 Lincoln LS from Sanderson Lincoln Mercury on Bell Road in Phoenix. She was thrilled with the car. She had problems from the start. One week into the ownership... 2 coils in the cylinders fried along with the spark plugs. It was fixed without cost because Ford knew about the problem with this particular VTech Engine. A week later 2 more were fried That's 4 so far. About a month after ownership, the "Engine" light went on... we took it in to see what was wrong. That's when we were informed that 2 more coils were fried. We were told that there may be other problems and were asked if we would like further diagnostics done at the cost of $114. To be safe we agreed. We were the informed that we needed to have THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION OVERHAULED. AT THE COST OF $3,500!!!We were not only shocked but traumatized that we would have to fork that much money out after owning the car only one month. We simply don't have that kind of ready cash in th

Thank you to David Riccio. David listened to my story and suggested a common failure for my troubled Chevy Trailblazer. I told David that the chevy dealer replaced the part he suggested about a year ago and that had not cured my "roaring" noise. So, David and I went for a test drive. He said, maybe the brand new part from the dealer was defective, commenting that it does happen. David said he would pull the vehicle trouble codes to check for failures as a no charge courtesy...Guess what, the code indicate a failre of the dealer replaced part. At that point David said to go to the dealer and see if they'll warranty the problem. I went to the dealer and they warrantied the part. The problem was illiminated.David you were great. Thank you!Sincerely,Mike Bain

Our Honda Odyssey broke down near Gallup. The shop there said to junk it even though we had less than 73,000 on it. We rented a truck and towed it to Salem Boys who sent us to Dave at Tri-City. Not only did he diagnose it at no cost, he got on the phone with Honda and helped broker a deal to get Honda to pay part of the bill. All of this was done for free. Who does this anymore? Tri-City treats their customers like family. I had always heard good things about them, now I know that the stories were all true. Thanks Dave!!

Tri-City Trans is the first auto repair company I have found that puts the consumer first! After visiting the dealer and a Honda specialist, both informed me that I needed a new transmission in my Odyssey at around $3,300. As an independent shop, Tri-City Trans informed me about a class action lawsuit against Honda specific to the problem I was having. After determining that my car met the requirements of the lawsuit, Tri-City Trans and their recommended dealer went to bat for me with Honda Cars of America. The result was a new transmission with Honda picking up 55% of the bill - a savings to me of over $1,600. In a recessed economy where every business decision counts, Tri-City Trans proved that doing the right thing to take care of the customer - despite losing the sale - is the ultimate payoff. Check them out for all of your transmission needs!

User Rating: 1 out of 5 stars by ann 06/19/2010 In June I took my van to Tri-city Transmissions for a check up because my van had a vibration problem, i thought my transmission could be going bad. So, we had to leave our van there for 2 days for inspection. They told me that they thought the drive axles were bad for them to inspect the drive axles, it might cost me from $100-$300. So, we decided to let them inspect it because we wanted the vibration to be fixed. The next day they called us up, they said that they didn't have the confidence to fix the problem. They said they checked out the axles, both of them were good. So, they insisted me to bring my van back next week for another 3 days so they can inspect again. I had already left my van there for 2 days. they didn't have the ability to fix the problem. If I'm going to leave my van there for another three days, do you think they have the ability to fix it? I just don't trust them. So i decided to take my van back to the dealer. W

We took our 2001 Camry to Tri-City Transmission to have them diagnose a leak upon recommendation from our mechanic. They not only repaired our car at an unbelievably fair price, but their customer service is OUTSTANDING! We felt very well cared for and were given undivided attention. We will be back and recommend to all our friends!
