Provided by YP.comI am very grateful to Dr. Barna and Florida Orthopedics. After seeing many doctors over the years, Florida Orthopedics and Dr. Barna were able to determine why I was in pain and Dr. Barna was able to get me out of pain. I had steroid shots that wore off fairly fast for me so about a month ago I had nerve ablations. I am so happy with the results! I can get up and down without pain for the first time in a very long time. The nerve ablations were a life changer for me and Florida Orthopedics has the best out-patient center I've been to in Tampa. Dr. Barna is very intelligent and caring. I highly recommend him and Florida Orthopedics. Every day now when I get up and go about my day I am grateful to them!

Provided by YPmobileI was referred here when I broke my ankle, and I have to agree with the other reviews. The wait times are an hour or more every time and then you see the doctor for only 5 minutes. If you want someone that cares more about you and your injury more than your money, find someplace else.

Provided by YP.comI had a total knee replacement. I have never had to wait long when I have had an appointment, both post op and pre-op. All the therapists I have had say I was a beautiful job. My only gripe is, they charge $30 a page, for faxes! 2 pages $60. They should allow a certain number free, then, if you have dozens, set a limit and charge for anything over!

Provided by YP.comIt's awful - I'm a pretty patient person but when the appointments are only available for two weeks out or more and the wait time is an hour I get a little upset. The Dr.s go through your appointment like you're just a checklist they need to complete. The MRI tech guy was really nice though! Go elsewhere. I only came here because they're right across the street from my work. Awful!

Provided by YP.comI thought it was important that I wrote this review. Before visiting FOI I went on line and read the reviews. I almost cancelled my appointment. Lucky I didn't. My appointment was perfect. I was scheduled for 12:30 by 12:45 I was getting x-rays. By 1:15 or so I was seeing Dr. Melissa Clinton, Dr. Smalls assistant and I was out of the office by 2:00 pm. They reviewed my MRI and xrays, gave me an evaluation and a few different options to solve my problems. You cant always believe what you read. If your looking for Doctors and employees who care, check this place out.

Provided by YP.comHorrible! I've worked in healthcare for 20 years, and this place is pathetic. I'm post op, and I can't get an appointment for issues going on after surgery. I can't get phone calls returned. 8 hours in pre-op because of their screw-ups. I should have walked out then because the level of service has continued to decline.

Provided by YP.comLook elsewhere. Care was OK, wait times in office horrible. However the reason I am rating this business now and with 1 star is because their billing office is an unorganized disaster. Over a year after our final payment for services and what we thought was the final bill, we received two bills for X-rays and services performed EIGHTEEN MONTHS ago. No explanation from FL Ortho as to why, just bills mailed to us for visits in Feb 2011.
Because of the huge, unexplained time delay I have had to order back statements from credit card companies and review past claims with our insurance company to be sure this has not already been paid.
This has been a big inconvenience, but more than that shows an incredible lack of organization in the billing department. One would think they might at least include a note as to why this was never billed in early 2011 right after it was processed by our insurance company.

Provided by YP.comDON'T EVER GO THERE!
I have damage to my lower spine due to more than 30 years of bending, twisting, stretching and lifting that is required to complete my duties a letter carrier with the Postal Service. My family physician, who is also an orthopedic doctor, told me that if I continued to due this work that I would further damage my spine. Following protocol, I filed a worker's comp. When my claim was accepted I needed to switch to a worker's comp doctor because my doctor didn't handle worker's comp.
Florida Orthopedic is close to home so I made an appointment there. I saw a Doctor Weinstein on August 7, 2012. He was hostile and rude. He told me that I did not have a worker's comp condition and that there was no reason why I shouldn't work in spite of the pain. I asked him what he would do if he were me. He told me that he would find another job - then he wrote me back to full duties with the only restriction being not to lift more than 25 pounds.
Had I known that the Florida Orthopedic Institute expresses such bias against patients I would never have made an appointment there. Dr Weinstein was not only prejudice, he also deliberately sabotaged my claim. If I return to work I will further injure my spine. If I don't, worker's comp will dismiss my claim. Since I cannot return to work, I will not be able to be compensated for my damages and loss. So I repeat "DON'T EVER GO THERE!'
This place needs to be investigated but who do you complain to? If anyone has an answer please let me know.

Provided by YP.comI have had NOTHING but compassion, concern and TLC from the staff to the Doctor's here and having broken my same foot a year ago, the treatment remains the same!!~ Everyone is courteous, professional and helpful. I have and WILL continue to recommend this facility and it's medical staff to ALL OF MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS. I have found that when you treat people the way you want to be treated, it comes full circle.
I know when I am not feeling well I may not always put my best foot forward. Great Job FOI, keep up the good work!!!

Provided by YP.comMy son was admitted through Tampa General Hospital and Florida Orthopedic was the group that saw him. Once he was discharged from the hospital nobody wanted to write prescriptions for him, despite the fact that he had multiple surgeries for multiple broken bones. You go to the office and wait for 3- 4 hours. Nobody is willing to help. The staff is rude, and treat you as if you were trash. I wish I could change doctors at this point but cant. I warn everyone I know to stay a way

Provided by YP.comFOI has been a saving grace for me. I have Adult Scoliosis and before coming to Florida to live I had eight back surgeries. All with some relief. My spine then took a turn for the worst and the pain I was in was growing increasingly unbearable. I was referred to FOI by an orthopedic doctor in Clearwater for a second opinion.
On my very first visit to FOI I was treated very very professionally and with the utmost respect. I then was sent to see Dr. Small for a second opinion within the FOI. I was told that Dr. Small was the best of the best. After x-rays, a CT Scan and an MRI the doctor and I sat and discussed whether surgery was an option or not. It was and I opted to go ahead with it. The surgery was obviously my ninth and hopefully my last. after one and a half years post surgery I am in heaven with very minute pain. FOI and Dr Small are the very best. I now am having a hip problem and am returning to FOI to see Dr. Lyons.
My final words on FOI are this: If you want the best orthopedic care this is the place to go. The staff and doctors are all the best as far as I am concerned. If you want the best be prepared to sit and wait when you get there.
