Doctor Rena Moy-Chang is a New Jersey and New York licensed Therapeutic Optometric Physician. After graduating from Vassar College Cum Laude, she attended State University of New York College of Optometry and received her Doctor of Optometry. Upon graduation, Dr. Moy-Chang completed a residency at New England College of Optometry’s affiliated Dimock Community Health Clinic. During her training, Dr. Moy-Chang worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Newington, Connecticut and at the Omni Eye Services in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Moy-Chang was a merit scholarship recipient, was inducted to the International Optometric Honor Society, and received the prestigious Max Cohen award for Service to Community. She also presented a research poster on optic nerve disease at the American Academy of Optometry and at the New England College of Optometry. She has taught at the State University of New York College of Optometry’s Collegiate Science Technology Entry Program, and Ocular Disease lab at New England College of Optometry. Dr. Moy-Chang has been practicing as a primary care optometrist for the past 18 years. Good vision care is not her only goal; she strives for long term good health for her patients. As a graduate student studying Medical Nutrition at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, she will learn and apply ways to ensure optimum health education and counsel to her patients. She is also involved with VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity) and has participated in two missions to Mexico to provide eye care to those who can not afford it. She has also volunteered her time more locally by offering screenings and consultations to the community. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, New York State Optometric Association, and the New Jersey Association of Optometry. Dr. Moy-Chang is also active with Habitat for Humanity for over 20 years, and has been Ambassador for their Annual Builder of the Year Galas.
