I had a great experience here. Every time I'm cleaning out my closets I head over to Tenafly Gold Coin! Not sure why others had a bad experience. The service is excellent. Friendly atmosphere.

I honestly believe these two reviews are completely false and were written by competitors, since gold is not weighed in GRAMS, but in a measuring unit called "Pennyweights". As for the other story, it is highly unlikely for anyone to leave any coin store without making sure their entire collection was intact. So I highly doubt that either stories are true. From my personal experience with the man at the store, I can say that he is extremely polite, funny,and honest; always with a smile on his face and a joke on his tongue. I sold him about half of my coin collection, after shopping around for a while to get good price. His offer was far better than anyone else I had came across. Excellent Service!!! Shame on the people that write fake reviews to damage the reputation of an honest man!

I also had a negative experience at this business. I took a coin collection there for a 'ballpark figure estimate' on its value. I had made a list of its contents and when I got home, discovered several items on my list were missing. After I called him, he said he located several of the missing items. When I returned (I think a day or so later) to pick up the items he had 'found,' there were still some missing. I left him my name and phone # but as I was leaving, he said 'Wait a minute,' went into the back of the store, and came out and handed me $70 cash. (The still missing items were about 4 or 5 old silver dollars -- possibly worth a good deal more than $70.)

DO NOT SELL YOUR GOLD HERE!! The guy has his scale rigged. I took my little bit of gold in and was told it weighed 8.2 grams. I was not convinced and weighed it on similar digital scale at a lab where I work and it's actual weight is 13.2 grams!!! Dishonest business man. Stay away.
