Country Roots Realty is an independent real estate company located conveniently between Carthage and Tenaha, in the Pineywoods of East Texas. As Broker and Owner, Melissa Summers loves guiding property sellers or buyers with all of their real estate needs. She promises honesty, selflessness, competence, and availability from the initial visit all the way to the closing table. "I strive to provide exceptional service to sellers needing top dollar for their properties, as well as guiding and protecting buyers when they find their dream homes and tracts of land to purchase. Growing up here allows me to know the surrounding communities, local service providers, and history of the towns. I worked as a Realtor Assistant for two and half years, then decided to start the journey of becoming a licensed real estate agent myself, where I worked another four years as a Realtor in Carthage. After many hours of classes, exams, and determination, I stepped out on faith and took the path to become a licensed real estate Broker and started up my own company. I have a wonderfully supportive husband whom I have been married to for 24 years, and we have two beautiful children, a lovely daughter-in-law, a hard-working son-in-law, and the sweetest grandbaby ever. I am the wife and mom of US Marines, so there has always been a special place in my heart for helping our veterans. I genuinely love working with farms, raw land, and all of our rural properties here. I have personal experience with buying and selling property, buying land, and growing and harvesting timber. We also run a small farm which consists of horses, pigs, chickens, dogs, a loud goose and one lazy cat. I love our little farmhouse in the woods and so I have chosen to make my office here out of my home. That enables me more productivity time working between the farm and the business, less overhead regardless of the current economy, and the extra security that provides. With the technology all homeowners now have, and e-sign at our fingertips, this allows me to jump over and work real estate really whenever needed. Whether at the house or on the road, I am equipped and ready to work. I enjoy showing properties each day, and I admit, I love every opportunity to get to meet up at the local coffee shop to go over paperwork in person."
