I would not let this place even dog sit ! They promise you everything how good and trained they are and they are far from it. My father has been in and out of the hospital on multiple occasions for falling and splitting his head open , also for extreme dehydration which shouldn't be happening. On multiple meetings with staff they always had excuses instead of solving the problems and even now with new ownership and management it has gotten worse that is why now I hired sitters to be in there 24hrs a day to see to his needs and to protect him while we are waiting for him to be transferred to a professional facility out of the area.

I have to say, I had previous experience with The Magnolia. I did take my loved one out of there. About 3 months ago I heard there was a change in management. I went to visit, I was greeted with smiles, and warmth. I decided to bring my loved one back to The Magnolia and I have to say, the new management is focused on resident care. I would recommend The Magnolia to anyone. It is a beautiful community with kind staff, the food is delicious! I can assure you after trying one of the other communities and speaking to other families. The Magnolia is by far the best in this area.

I would not call this place an Alzheimer or Dementia facility. The staff did not seem trained for these patients and they seem understaffed . The staff is cold and does not seem concerned with the well being of the residents. They are careless with meds and never seem willing to help with anything. I agree with everything that rbcorbitt said especially this: " Not a very good place to put your loved ones unless possibly you are able to be there daily to oversee their careand bring them food on a regular basis." There were numerous complaints about the meals and the understaffing but that there seems to have been a little improvement in that regard. But they have a long way to go and I would not recommend Magnolia to anyone.

Been very pleased...

My aunt has been at the Magnolia for about 6 months. I am very surprised at these other reviews on here. Me and my family's experiences so far have been positive. When I visit, The staff seem very pleasant and helpful and my aunt seems to be very happy. She's always involved in activities and doesn't and has never complained about the food, which always looks appetizing, by the way. When I have questions or concerns, Antonio, the administrator has always been quick to address my questions. In my opinion, this facility lives up to what it promises. We have no plans to move her anywhere else. We are very pleased with the level of service they provide.

The Magnolia is a beautiful fa...

The Magnolia is a beautiful facility and is located on lovely grounds. The potential for success is extraordinary. They advertise it is a safe, serene place providing self-automony. The place is hardly safe...in the last year there have been no less than five falls by residents requiring hospitalization. Several residents have gotten sick and it was no recognized by the staff, thereby requiring hospitalization. Totally inadequate medical oversight is provided due to ill trained, uncaring, and unmotivated staff. The staff is disgruntled and voice their unhappiness with the residents and staff....usually complaining of how tired they are..which does not bode well for a serene environment. The food is unedible, quality and presentation...and not prepared for those who can barely feed themselves and have dentures. As far as self-autonomy...they got that right...they basically check your loved ones in and leave them to manage for themselves. There are several excellent aides, but due to their lazy counterparts they can barely keep up themselves. Not a very good place to put your loved ones unless possibly you are able to be there daily to oversee their care and bring them food on a regular basis.

it is beautiful, clean, but their help is lazy, food is terrible, don't answer the bells when a patient needs them.

Lots of stress among the employees, and it relates to the patients. I want my mom to see smiles.

I would like more information ...

I would like more information about the Magnolia House in Texarkana Texas. I read information about the facility, but would like to hear from people who have family in this facility. It appears to be a beautiful place, but would like to know more about the care of patients. I can find no reviews. Wondering if there are any complaints or is everything positive.
