Dr. Nitza I. Alvarez is the oldest of 10 siblings which has make her be very determined and has help to build up her personality and charism. She was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico where she completed her medical school with honors becoming a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society- Gamma Chapter, a professional medical organization, that recognizes and advocates for excellence in scholarship, and the highest ideals in the profession of medicine. She moved to Albany NY, where she completed her residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in cardiovascular diseases, and subsequently moved to Florida where she has been providing care for her patients with her vast experience and knowledge in the management of cardiovascular disease. She is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), on Adult Echocardiography by the American Society of Echocardiography(ASE), and Nuclear Cardiology by the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC). She is a Professional member of the American College of Cardiology (ACC), American Heart Association (AHA-ASA), ASE, and ASNC. Dr. Alvarez has a an expertise in management of Women Heart Disease, and share a special interest in management of arrhythmias and preventive cardiovascular medicine. In fact she is an avid runner and believe that healthy lifestyle is the beginning of a better heart health. On her spare time she enjoy spending time with her 2 precious children and her amazing husband ( as she likes to refer to him) She maintains privileges at the following hospitals: The Villages Regional Hospital (TVRH) and Leesburg Regional Medical Center (LRMC)

My four visits to Dr Alvarez were all in a timely manner. A friendly & knowledgeable staff helped to calm my nerves! Dr Alvarez speaks in a friendly manner as she uses language skills & demonstrations for complete understanding. My questions were answered thoroughly & a further treatment plan was explained.
