Wow.. what a terrible experience. All I wanted and needed was my current subscription- for progressive glasses I purchased from a Walmart Vision Center in Texas filled as non-progressive. I asked them if they could refill my existing prescription. “Sir.. no… we are an independent optometrist.”

Then I asked if they could simply pull up from their system my old prescription. I begged and they reluctantly did so, but then told me the prescription was expired. Ok.. can I simply see and have the existing prescription? “No sir, you can’t have it and we can’t show it to you”.

Frustrated, I left. Went immediately to another Center in the Villages- called Peepers. They ASKED me what I needed and after learning about my frustrating experience at a Walmart Vision Center- informed me I did not need my existing prescription. They can determine wat I needed by merely inspecting my current glasses. Wallah…. I had new non progressive glasses from Peepers in just 2 hours!

Bottom line- the folks at Walmart Vision Center need a class in customer service. NOT ONE PERSON, from the Walmart Vision Center’s greeter, to the Walmart Vision Center optometrist’s assistant to the Vision Center staff who helps fit glasses- even asked me what I needed or made any effort at all to help me. In fact, they made me feel bad about even asking. They have their little process… which starts with an exam. And if there is any deviation from their script…. Heaven help you.
