I have been going to The Pet Doctor just over a year, after my baby was diagnosed with diabetes at another clinic and they left him untreated for 2 weeks. I took him to The Pet Doctor and Dr. Gambles immediately put him on an adjusted dose of insulin and scheduled a curve test to see where his sugars were. My baby also has Calcium Oxilate stones and she does Ultrasounds on him to detect if he has acquired any new stones. When my girl had to be put to sleep a few months ago, they were so compassionate and caring. I love this vet and the staff has always been professional, to include the front desk.

I worked for him for a short time when I was young he is very intelligent and extremely in precise ...but had little patience for me as seems to be suffering emotionally wish him well.

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Mareno. He is one of the most wonderful vets I have ever met and he goes above and beyond for animals. My coworkers and I are constantly bringing sick, injured, pregnant, etc. cats that we find around our store to Dr. Mareno and he and his staff have always been incredible. We found a 2 week old kitten with a severely injured paw and took him to Dr. Mareno and he personally cared for the kitten for several days until he was healthy enough for us to take home. He knows how much we care about our little unofficial animal rescue and he and his staff have been so very kind to us.

These reviews are by far way off. The staff go above and beyond and give you plenty of options. They let you know the price ahead of time so you're not shocked when you go to check out.

I was looking for a vet close to me but after reading these reviews its got me scratching my head. All these people cannot be lying nor did they all come together to bash this vet. A couple of the reviews I read were disturbing. Putting a dog down they thought was a stray??? Wow. I mean you can't believe everything online but how is this place still in biz if the staff is really that rude. Firstly I consider my dogs family members and I am crazy about them as most pet owners are and if they were rude...oh God help them. If I had found out one of my animals got put down bc of their confusion or stupidity I would be calling for legal help. Does this vet allow you to put animals on the porch prior to opening? Thats crazy I would never do that but then again ppl work and if that was the case I would of made arrangements to be late or take the day off to ensure my animal made it safely inside. Who would walk up on the porch of this business and steal a dog's credentials? At least the dog wasn't stolen but what happened was worse. As far as the doc getting very "personal" with a client just crazy. It's a wonder they havent had numerous lawsuits

What is the point of making an online ad when looking for someone to hire into your business? There were specific instructions to follow in which it was "Show up in person and don't call" and reassurance on the ad that stated "If this ad is still up we're still hiring." I was given an application anyways because the desk lady wasn't sure if the position was filled or not. I get home later and see the ad is no longer up. How rude? Not giving an option to call and make sure before making the trip? Giving false hope? So rude and very unprofessional. Not even calling to apologize for the mistake.

This veterinary clinic is by far the worst place I have ever visited. The receptionist staff and vet were rude, unkind, and even hateful. I have never felt more insulted in my life. The man who works there got WAY to personal with me and very inappropriate. He speaks to his staff like they are slaves, and even called one a b***h to her face. I will never visit this establishment again and I hope everyone heeds the other reviews as well. These people do not need to be in business if they act this way. I would never want to be left in the same room with this man, let alone leave my pet in his care.

I have taken my pets to Dr. Moreno for years and have always received courteous, professional service. When I had to have my Yorkie put to sleep because of a brain tumor, they were very compassionate. They give plenty of options and are never judgmental or pushy.

Horrible people skills. I live right down the road and wanted to get a pet scanned. I walk in and there were THREE different people that saw me. They never once asked if I needed help or asked me to wait a minute. I walked out and went to Tillman's Corner Veterinary and the whole staff helped me and was VERY VERY FRIENDLY! I urge everyone that loves animals to PLEASE not go to Pet Doctor. The front desk is what makes the office and they sure as hell don't help!!

By far the worst group of people running a business in Theodore, Alabama. Dr. Moreno and staff are extremely rude and they are liars. A client dropped there dog off early about 15 minutes til opening and left his dog at the doorstep with her kennel, nametag collar, and food. Unfortunately someone stole all of his pets belongings in between the client leaving and the clinic opening so what the staff saw at the door when arriving was to them a stray dog. They put the dog to sleep as they would any other stray dropped off at the doorstep. Later that day the client came to pick up the dog and after the staff realized from the owners description that it was the pet they put to sleep that morning they lied to the client explaining they had no idea what pet he was referring too or nothing. Dr. Moreno told his staff not to say anything as if it never happened. Now that's poor quality of a person and as a licensed veterinarian. Dr Moreno practices excellent medicine and is one hell of a surgeon but when you constantly have one of your staff members in your office with blinds closed half the day then I'm sure it is hard to focus on your craft. The lies will one day be heard and seen and they will eventually catch up in life.

I used this vet a few years ago and quit going because of the problems with both the staff and Dr. Moreno's attitude. Went there today and remembered why I left in the first place. It hasn't changed. The front desk is still manned by a little girl who takes great pleasure in ruling to roost with 1/2 a brain and 100% attitude. I just don't get this kind of work ethic. Anyway....I won't return. I learned my lesson and didn't spend a single $ in that place.

I was impressed by the compassion shown by the staff and Dr. Moreno. My dog was hit by a car and in a lot of pain. Dr. Moreno talked to my dog and soothed him. I have never seen a vet that showed as much compassion as he did. I will definitely bring all my dogs to him for future services.

This is the vet I take all my animals to! And I love it there, the staff is friendly and beyond willing to help. I refer a lot of my personal friends there and they all enjoy their experience! I had a pet I did not know what was wrong with her she was just crying in pain. I took her to the pet doctor and saw dr moreno and he had very little to go on but still figured out what was wrong with her. With X-Rays and a series of laser treatments she is like a brand new dog! I really enjoy taking my pets to The Pet Doctor!

he said to me when i went in that i did not take caare of my animal and the only reason i was there was my dog had a seizer and it was to far for me to drive to my vet with his condition so i brought him in and he was very rude and nasty. bu t whats really funny is that when i got him fixed 2 weeks ago on my sisters medicade card he was the one who gave my animal the wrong medicine which is what gave him the seizers atupid man when i told him he was the one who gave him the medicine he just asked me to leave and not to come back because i was mad that he gave my dog the wrong medicine and tried to blame it on me i immediately went to my vet told him what happened he said that " that doctor there makes those mistakes quite alot and then puits it off on some one else,

thedoctor there was the worst human being i have ever encountered my entire life and i live in a lot of places so there fore i have met quite a few mean people i would not bring my animal back there if he was the last one in mobile i would rather drive to mississippi and risk my animal dying before she goes back to that man... so please consider another vet before putting you and your animal through that tourcher........................ seriously his ignorance was unexcuable in always
