Dr. Mitchell was born and raised in the Conejo Valley. She attended Westlake High School and earned her undergraduate degree at Stanford University. She earned her MD from University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. During that time she founded the National Melanoma Awareness Project and graduated at the top of her class with numerous honors including membership in Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She completed her internship year in Internal Medicine at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, CA then pursued her dermatology residency at University of California, San Francisco. She has contributed over a dozen scientific publications, was honored by the American Academy of Dermatology with the AAD Presidents Gold level Volunteer Service Award, and in January 2010 received the AAD Members Making a Difference Award, an honor bestowed on one dermatologist quarterly in the country each year. Dr. Mitchell is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Society for Mohs Surgery. She is a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society for Contact Dermatitis, the Pacific Dermatologic Association, the California Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, and the San Fernando Valley Dermatology Society. Dr. Mitchell was thrilled to return to her hometown to begin her private practice as a member of Conejo Dermatology in 2011. She most enjoys spending time with her husband and being mommy to their daughter and son. Other hobbies include fishing, gardening, cooking, and music.
