The repairman was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. He
helped me understand the workings of a microwave and how to keep it in good repair. Very friendly and got the job done quickly and to my satisfaction. I live out in the boondocks so it is very helpful to have someone who is willing to go the distance.

I agree with Joanne in that the technician was wonderful but I do not appreciate being strong armed into buying a warranty. Not only do you have to say you are not interested to the service guy but then he has to phone Sears and tells them that I am not going to buy it . THEN he hands the phone me because she has to ask WHY I am not interested!! I have bought Sears appliances for 40 years and have always used the technicians but after this experience my friend gave me the number of her appliance man.

It was great that the service person called 30 mins before arrival so I did not have to wait all morning. Also, he was very fast with the repair and courteous as he explained what could have cause the issue with my washer.

Easy to schedule. Only part I didn't like was them trying to sell me a home warranty. I've worked retail so I know the order comes from mgmt.

But he also wanted to sell me a part I didn't need. Took only a few minutes to complete repair once I had part & repair time was coordinated.

I bought a Bosch dishwasher and an extended warranty from Sears. Now I believe an extended warranty is a bad decision. When I needed service, Sears was unable to schedule a service appointment in a timely manner. Also they subcontract with another company called AF Services in our area. The communication with AF was awful and i was given conflicting stories about when the technician would show up and whether or not the technician would have with him the part that was needed. When the dishwasher stopped working a second time a week later, I made a another appointment with AF, and then different people at Sears were giving me conflicting information about whether or not they still subcontracted with AF Services. I spent two hours on the phone before it was sorted out and was accidentally hung up on multiple times. This low quality of service is embarrassing. It seems Sears has no incentive to offer better service to extended warranty customers since they already have our money.

I have had a Sears 20+ appliance maintenance contract for 40 years. Really, since 1975. So, I do like the plan. The technician was excellent. My only complaint was the cumbersomeness I encountered in trying to talk to the staffers who run the program. This was a repair to a 18-month old dehumidifier with a new price of $250. Given a parts cost of $130, the tech thought it foolish to order the part and schedule a second visit but he could not make that decision and suggested I call it in. I tried to get to someone in charge to explain that a simple swap-out for a replacement would be faster and cheaper but never succeeded in reaching anyone with authority. The repair was satisfactory but the phone tree needs some trimming.
