The Quakers are ones who state unconditional love, unconditional support no matter who you are or what you have done. I find myself beside myself. I am a ex-con who has had the opportunity to attend camp had the opportunity to understand why camp can change a life for the GOOD. Sadly I messed up latter in my life and did a large part of my life within the walls of the justice system. I educated myself and earned my AA degree and my BA degree in criminal justice & paralegal studies while incarcerated I now work with first time offenders arranging for an alternative to incarceration for these first time offenders. I am married, and have a child. I have found myself in a situation due to my housing and turned to the Quaker meeting seeking support and was turned away, turned down within 5 min of my request My mother and father were lifelong members of the meeting. I am floored at the fact the meeting states they give unconditional support, and does not judge. I find this to be further from the truth. I guess its just a another smoke and mirror gimmick. I have changed my life and really wanted to re-enter the meeting for my family, wanted my son to enjoy camp and enjoy what they have to offer. I guess that will never happen. I guess in other peoples eyes I will never change. As far as camp goes it is a wonderful place memories that will last a life time. MY RATING FOR CAMP IS A (4) for what they state they stand for a ( 1 )
