Farmers & Merchants Bank was chartered on April 15, 1908, as a state chartered bank in Timberville, Va., and is one of the oldest banking businesses native to Rockingham County. The bank serves the Shenandoah Valley with nearly 10 full-service branches, a network of ATMs and a variety of financial services, such as banking, investments and insurance products. Farmers & Merchants has grown during the years to more than $290 million in assets, and boasts nearly 95 full- and part-time employees. F & M Bank Corporation, incorporated in Virginia in 1983 as a one-bank holding company, owns 100 percent of the outstanding stock of its two affiliates, Farmers & Merchants Bank and TEB Life Insurance Company. Farmers & Merchants Financial Services, the bank s investment division, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the company. Farmers & Merchants Bank is located in Timberville, Va.
