Great Publix, Worst Deli. Ever.

I have no real problem with this Publix outside of the lanky kid in the deli. This inexperienced young man routinely ruins subs. In fact, I've not had a single good one since he's been there. The bread is cut unevenly, is often soggy, and the placement of elements desired both proportionately and logistically make no sense. Why is the meat hacked to bits and thrown around between the randomized vegetables and copious amount of salad and the ocean of sauce? I'm also relatively sure he doesn't change his gloves or is even Safe Food certified, and I contracted food poisoning the last two times I ate a sub. However, the rest of the store, even their Sushi, is completely on point. Fire that kid, and it's one of- if not the best- stores I've been to in this chain.

I have always received wonderful service from everyone I have dealt with at Publix. I got in line with 10 items or less. I had 2 large cakes and some small items. total of 11 items. The cashier saw the two cakes in my basket and assumed I had more than 10 items without even counting them. There was no one behind me in line and I honestly thought I had less than 10 items. He turned to me and told me I had to leave his line as I had more than 10 items. I looked at him and asked if he counted my items. He said he did not need to my basket was full (Remember I had two large cakes). I counted my items and saw I had 11. So I told him to take back a can of beans I had so I was 10 or less. (the other lines were full). He told me he could not do that and I had to select another line. I was very upset. If it had not been that I had two cakes for my twins birthday, I would have left the cart where it was and walked out. I went to another line and a manager was walking around so I grabbed her and told her what happened. She said he should have never questioned me and even if I was 1 or 2 items over and no one behind me he should have checked me out. I am not sure if they talked to him, but I will be avoiding his lane if he is there as I am not sure I can hold me tongue with him. Very rude cashier.
