The organization helps girls and adults to develop healthy lifestyles, fitness regimens and diets. In addition, it accepts donations from individuals and institutions. In 2008, Girl Scout Councils of Great Rivers, Buckeye Trails, Appleseed Ridge and Maumee Valley merged to become Girl Scouts of Western Ohio.
