Never even think about going there!!!

The owner LIED to us over the phone on the buffet menu. It was simply A BAIT (HOOK) to go!!!! We barely ate anything because WE DIDN'T FIND THE DISH THAT WE WENT FOR. SO, WE ASKED the waitress to make us more as the buffet wasn't close yet. The waitress and the manager refused to make us more of that kind even though the manger knew that I had asked about it by phone although! He started raising his voice saying that he doesn't guarantee any food in the buffet, and we should eat from the other dishes. He knew that they didn't even have but one more which was chicken curry. The others were side dishes. In short, he was so rude not only by yelling at us, but also by taking away the NAN bread basket which he claimed he gave as a second one as complementary!!!!

I didn't find 0 so going with 1 star... For sure I don't recommend this place to anyone. Very horrible food and rest room maintained like rest area place.

Also the way owner responding to reviewers comments (in google reviews) sounds like a racists or pysyche guy running this restaurant.... recommend to stay away..

Very rude.. the owner denied serving. He doesn’t like Indians and makes abusive comments. I would not recommend taking family and kids to this place.

My boyfriend and I absolutely love this place. It is by far the best in Toledo. We have tried almost every dish and we have been more than pleased with everything. I tell everyone about The Jewel. The service is great and the atmosphere is very peaceful. Even when they are busy we never mind waiting because it is so worth it.

They're on Airport Hwy now, near Spring Meadows and they are still the very best Indian I've ever had. I'm glad he got a bigger place, but I do still miss having him right down the road. :-)

I've been to other Indian restaurants in the area and had a decent experience ,I wanted the best Indian food for my wedding because my Wife's parents are from India and we picked in this Indian Restaurant in down town because we have tried many Indian restaurants and we found this restaurant to be the best amongst the lot. The on site tandoor with exceptional decoration and live sitar and tabla music and buffet setup we loved it all. When we went to the restaurant to settle the bill we were asked to share our experience with others and I thought of writting on the net. I can not thank anymore when I told the owners to give special attantion because I want my mother in law to be impressed and she was really impressed and I am glad we picked this indian restaurant to cater the wedding.The customer service was great.

The Jewel really lives up to its name! It has delicious food, excellent service, and good prices. It never seems to be crowded, even at dinner time on weekends. My only complaint is that the chairs are a bit low for the tables, which makes it a bit awkward to reach for things on the table. If this site allowed half-stars, I'd give the Jewel 4.5!

I actually love this place very much. It's a very clean, interestingly decorated place and the food is fantastic, by far the best Indian in Toledo, but my only criticism is that the dining experience is often hindered because there is only one waitress working at a time, so if they're busy at all (which they usually are) it takes a very long time to get your food, refill your drink, or even get the check to cash out. Once a friend and I ate there and we were there for over 2 hours! Still, their chicken curry is fantastic, so it's almost worth the wait. I may order out next time though!
