Useless and unhelpful. They don't really want to help anyone who comes in, it's a front/act for good looks. Their job is to turn away as many people as possible so the gov't spends less & less money on the poor. They don't care if you starve to death with children in your home or one on the way. Of course their friends, family, & close family friends never get turned away.
