Good food, yes! But the service sucks! And the owner and his wife are both arrogant, ignorant a**holes! We had the misfortune of getting lousy service on several occasions (as have many others we have talked to). On a recent visit, it took over an hour and a half for our appetizer to arrive. It came several minutes after our meal, which also took a half hour to arrive. When we complained about the poor service, the owners became defensive saying they were busy (only about half the tables were occupied). We also complained about the lousy server we had, but they defended him saying what a great person he was, never mind that he was screwing up orders all night long! When we suggested that our bill be adjusted, that's when the crap hit the fan! We were told in no uncertain terms to leave and never come back. Problem is, we like going once a week to listen to a music group that plays there. But we're not even allowed to come back! Whatever happened to making your customers happy and satisfied??? This place and their owners certainly have never heard of respecting the customers and making them WANT to return. If you must eat here - DO NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT ANYTHING or you may also find yourself banished by the Trotters gods.

NOT SO MUCH

The first week Trotters Restaurant was open (I forget what year but maybe 2006?)we stopped in. One waitess was at the bar and someone was behind the bar and no one else was in the restaurant.

We sat at a table and my husband ordered a Burger and I orderd a Reuben Sandwich with beer and a coctail.

My husband's burger came to the table in about 15 minutes. 30 minutes after he got served his burger and ate it, I got my Reuben Sandwich.

The evening a musical (don't remember which one) that came to the Stranahan Theatre in March 2009 we tried our second time to visit Trotters. This time we sat at the bar and the place was packed. My husband ordered (the worst RibEye Sandwich ever) and I ordered a chef salad again with a beer and a cocktail. We were served 1 hour and 30 minutes after we ordered.

Then about early April of 2009 we thought we give Trotters another try. We came in it was after dark sat at the bar with a retired teacher and his nurse wife and ordered a beer, cocktail and a menu. There were not very many people in this night as it was a Thursday evening. 30 minutes later the bartender had still not refreshed our first rounds of drinks or asked us what we wanted off the menu. We paid, didn't tip and went to GROUND ROUND for the BEST INEXPENSIVE BIG FOOD & IMMEDIATE SERVICE and huge free pour drinks.

After April 15, 2009 we tried Trotters one more time, our great waiter dark haired, male, slim 5' 9ish with black rimmed glasses was on the ball and asked us for our drink choices and handed us a menu. He remembered how long we waited the night of the musical and was genuinely kind about our bad experience. Because the RibEye sandwich was soooooooooo bad the one time we did order food we just had drinks and tipped the guy 20% for our drinks since the establishment looked pretty bare of people.

That is what we think!
