Randall's Refrigeration A/C was part of our new home build package. As such they were our first choice to contact for repairs. When our 1 1/2 year unit froze over we called them and they charged us for coming out. The technician did not fix anything as I had already taped over the leak and I was told that this was the right corrective action. He checked the refrigeration fluid and all seemed good. So far we were happy customers. Unfortunately the unit froze over again 2 month later and we called them again. After checking the unit the technician established that the unit was dinged up and the seals were not holding. The unit was still pulling air our of the attic from the side and the bottom which was not taped. The technician did not do anything and I was asked to pay the service charge again. When I talked to the service manager he was extremely conceding and unfriendly. I have never been talked down to like this before by someone in the service industry. We agreed that the technician would take pictures and he would get back to me immediately. After talking to the service manager I reluctantly paid the second fee in promise that I would get a credit for the repair of the unit. This has been now one month and I still have not spoken to the service manager despite calling their office frequently.

At this point I do not use their services again and I have no hopes of getting the second service fee back which I believe was not warranted as non of their technicians actually fixed the problem.

I do not recommend to use this company for any services as long as the owners allow their service manager to treat customers like this.

Randall's Refrigeration has been a nightmare to deal with! They have to be the most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with. I have just moved into a new construction home where they did the HVAC installation and my first floor won't cool! They send a tech over on Friday who goes into my attic to do "something", comes downstairs and looks at my thermostat says its fixed and leaves my house and proceeds to sleep in his truck outside my house for the next two hours. When I hear a strange whistling noise from my return air vent, I go outside, knock on his window and ask him to take a look. He comes inside, looks in the mechanical room and says its supposed to sound like that and goes back outside to sleep for another 30 minutes.



Saturday morning our first floor is still not cooling and Randall's is closed on the weekend. Call Monday and they are supposed to come but they never do and reschedule to Tuesday. Tuesday they are supposed to come but never do and reschedule to Wednesday. Wednesday, the same tech comes over. He listens to some pipes in the mechanical room, mutters something about having to rewire the system, goes to the backyard and looks at the compressor. He then goes to my front yard for what I assume is to get some tools, and just leaves without a word!



I call the main office and am told I need to speak with the service manager. Of course that person isn't there and will have to call me back. They never call back. I call back the next day and am told they will need to call me back. They never call back. I call back four hours later and demand to speak to someone in charge. I finally get to speak with someone and they tell me that it is my fault that my ac isn't cooling the first floor! I have been in my new house a total of four days and my ac has never worked properly and this company blames me!



Avoid this company like the plague!!! They are the absolute worst!!!

So frustrated...

We found Randalls Refrigeration through the Owner-Builder Network when building our home 7 years ago. While the installation of our high-end system went OK, the service repairs we've had since then have been terrible. We have had them out to repair our system 4 times this year having replaced the system board 3 times. During these repairs they have found duct problems with the original installation, btw. Here is how our current repair has gone (I'm only using them now because of the work warranty from the previous repairs):

1) I schedule a service call.

2) Repair man comes out and tells me that the system board has failed and he's got a spare in his truck, which he didn't.

3) Repair man says they have a spare at the office and he'll get one and come back. He never comes back, no call.

4) I call the next day and am told they have to order the part.

5) A week later I call again asking for status. The tell me they'll check and get back to me. The next day they call my home and tell my wife they need to come out and get the failed part so that they can switch it out with the dealer for a working part.

6) 3 days later I'm calling again for status. I'm told that we need to wait another two days before they receive the part.



This is how my experience has been with them. Bad communication, expensive repairs, and I'm still left with a "top-of-the-line" system that I'm not sure will run beyond their short repair warranty.

This company lies about everything

I bought a new system 3 weeks ago - I cannot get a copy of my warranty - my contract - I was ask to sign a document and not date it - which clearly states the contractor is not allowed by law to do this - the ac unit does not properly cool the house - i was quoted and agreed to buy an Amana - they delivered the cheapest unit of what they say is a Frigidaire - every time the weather gets really hot - the unit has to be shut off for a couple of hours to cool down before you can use again - I have made 3 appointments for someone to check it and no one shows up or calls, You CANNOT get past their dispatch girl and will not get you to an owner - I have put emails to the owner - NO response - NOTHING - everytine they open their mouth it is an outright LIE!!!



I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau - I have already called the Chamber of commerce and now I am contacting the Attorney General office - I have a 6500.00 debt and an ac unit that does not work properly - and apparently they don't care - the finance company has given them their money so what do they care!!
