I used to love to shop here. It was small and cramped, but had a nice variety and some good color tag sales. And i appreciated that all the proceeds went to charity.
BUT.. now that they have a larger space their prices have gotten outrageous. Most things are priced at or near retail. And they price most other items as if this is an antique shop. They almost never have sales on the color tags anymore. And occasionally have a random sale here or there. I just recently stopped in just to check things out for the first time in awhile and I couldn't believe the prices. Sold as is items are priced very high. An old, but not vintage sewing machine $50. A glass canister set with rooster tops that I saw at kirkwoods for 59.00, they had priced at $150, a painting $199, the list could be endless. So while I was there a man made an offer of $150 for a set of nicknacks they had. It was a reasonable offer on merchandise that they had donated to them for free. They proceeded to pull up Etsy and ebay and bring up similar items to show the crazy high asking prices for these items ( that were not selling for that price) to justify their prices. But when another customer suggested pulling up the items on eBay that have actually sold to see what the going prices actually are, those prices came up way less proving their prices were very high. They didn't have much to say about that except to deny the man's offer, which was very reasonable. On top of that the employees are very rude. I have taken things to the counter and had them question the pricing on the items and want to raise them.
My point.. This is a THRIFTY STORE NOT AN ANTIQUE SHOP. ...... I understand pricing things to get a profit but they have gotten way out of hand here... and truly need to work on their poor rude attitides.
